It probably gets TSN's website a lot of traffic, which is about all they care about.

Same reason how Don Brennan still has a job, and he's written just as about or worse garbage over the years.

I guess the average GP for someone at the first spot is 390, so that's his number. He's trying to project value of the first overall (which, according to this matrix is always a player of the same value...so Yakupov has the same value as McDavid).

And Chris Phillips.

USA just beat the Czechs in the shootout. Matthews with the tying goal in the second as well as the only one in the shootout.

Finland 5-1 over Denmark in the other early Quarterfinal game.

Canda-Sweden and Russia-Germany in a little over an hour.

Stone with 4 goals and 10 points through 8 games. Tied for 6th in the tournament and tied for the team lead with Brassard. How is he not a lock for the World Cup team?

I think he deserves World Cup consideration but certainly not because of this tournament. This tournament is irrelevant, theyre playing against bad competition throughout.

Tomas Hertl...man, I remember when some wise folks around here used to talk about trading for him.

Yes, but they all are. According to per-tournament notes, practices etc. he was behind Gallagher on the depth chart, including that last right-wing spot for the World Cup. I don't have a clue why they considered him behind Gallagher -- the only thing Gallagher had on him was more playoff games, and that is far from an individual accomplishment.

I'm looking at Stone as being the highest-scoring Canadian-born right-winger who has led the league in takeaways in both of his first two seasons. He also had success on the international stage with the juniors. The only thing he doesn't have is draft pedigree. He should be on that team on merit, but according to all the pundits this tournament is his audition. Well, he's tied for the team lead in points even though he started out on the 4th line. He is paying a regular shift on the PP and I believe he is also killing penalties. He's basically a very versatile player -- he can score, he can set up, he can kill penalties, he can play the slot on the PP.

Yeah, this tournament certainly isn't irrelevant for his World Cup consideration, so we'll see how this pans out for him. Hockey Canada gets pretty "set" in their ways, so we'll see if they're willing to smarten up.

He's ok, more of a depth forward now. His rookie year was playing over his head

As for stone the issue has already been mentioned. There are many better players who are centres who will be shifted to wing for the World Cup. I think stone could be used as a third or fourth liner. He would be on my team but it's understandable if he doesn't make it. Crosby, Tavares, stamkos, Seguin, giroux, getzlaf, toews, etc. All need to find homes somewhere

I'm talking about Carter, Gallagher, etc.

Great start for the Sharks. Could they finally get to the Finals?

I know that people aren't really tuning in for the playoffs this year, but they've been farking great.

The lightning blew their chance. They will decline next year after losing their best player

Pittsburgh was the best team coming into the playoffs in the east but it's still sad that ottawa isn't that much worse than them on paper. We could have done damage if they made it

Nah, the Lightning will be fine without Stamkos.
