Awful goal, but that pass behind the net way too hard and in the skates. Standup goalie stops that every time. Butterfly goalies have to learn to put the stick down before they flop down.

Canada was just way too undisciplined. The poor team D and mediocre goaltending also lead to our defeat.

Here's a thought. Next year, use PIMs in the selection process. Don't bother with hotheads. It's like IIHF refs are just looking to call a retaliation penalty.

Also, I don't know why Konecny wasn't used more. One of our beat players all tournament.

A couple timely calls would have engaged the lack of discipline. Canada is on a PP and the puck gets lost in the equipment of a Fin. The way Virtaanen reacted I suspect he held the pick knowingly. At the very least could have stopped play. They do when they lose sight of the puck around the crease.

Now I can cheer for Russia full-time. Pulled the jersey on this morning when they were trailing by one and they scored a minute later to tie it up.
