Team Russia bandwagon, for me. It's the only jersey I've got. One of these days I've got to get me a Team Canada one.

Just got a youtube stream link and 10 seconds after I start watching Russia ties it up. 1-1 with under 5 to go in the second.

I had seen another stream earlier (right after USA scored) and it looked like Team Russia were skating in sand. So slow. Yet by all accounts it's Nedeljkovic that has kept the Americans in as they keep taking penalties.

2-1 Russia now.

That #26 (Korshkov?) can be a bull. Reminded me of Malkin in an earlier game.

Finland Russia tomorrow. I might need to take a day off.

Nice to see the Americans lose. Watch Ron Wilson's pre game clip where he talks about how he doesn't know any of the Russian players and he's not going to do any research. Hilarious.

I thought it was over. I didn't see the penalty the Russian captain took but heard but earlier they let quite a lot go (just before the tying goal a Finnish player whacked a Russian player in the head from behind -- very surprised it wasn't called, this isn't the NHL). Anyhow, watching a stream on my laptop, my kid comes over, says the Russians will tie it up. And they do.

But why was the goalie so out of position? Looked like the Finnish player pushes the Russian defender into the goalie while the puck carrier goes for the wraparound.

Thank goodness I'm only mildly invested because if this had been Canada I would be livid now.

Earlier in the tournament they had Yakushev presenting the player of the game award (may have been the other Russia-Finland game). That was my favorite player growing up. Sadly he had just retired when I got to Canada so I didn't see him play again (like the '76 New Year's Eve game).

OK, now back to real hockey. Sweet OT winner by Ryan. Had a hand in all three Sens goals. Didn't need to *spell* anything.
