The more I look at Cowen/Ceci, the more I'm sliding with SSF regarding Ceci.

He was on fire. He seemed to be on the ice the whole game, even though he actually played under 9 minutes. What a game!

Only the Rangers and Habs have less regulation wins than the Sens and ... F the Habs so they don't count! Smile

I assume you meant losses. Yeah, the Sens have cornered the market on shootouts. But that's 4 *regulation* wins in a row, now, so we are moving up in the, ahem, ROW column. Our last regulation loss was that Nashville game where Andy gave up 7. Since then we've had 5 regulation wins, an OT loss and a SO loss. 13 goals in regulation in 7 games. And that includes the 4 against Dallas which, let's face it, is like one of those 80s games against the Oilers (4 goals is like a freaking shutout against other teams).

It's not that simple. The issue is that Wiercioch needs a veteran presence, and Ceci wasn't it. Also Ceci is not the biggest toughest mofo out there and it helps his game playing with 6'5" Cowen rather than Wiercioch; Methot would have worked as well -- I still think Karlsson/Wier then Ceci-Methot could have worked. And on that bottom pairing you had Cowen and an off-side Borowiecki. Neither one very adept at moving the puck; it was just a bad pairing, and they made matters worse by making them the first PK unit, where their ineffectiveness together was highlighted.

4th in the Conference, 4 points up on Boston (for 2nd in Division); just 2 back of Washington (3rd in Conference), even if they have a game in hand; 5 back of the Rangers; 7 back of Les Habs (with a game in hand). And now with Price injured (it's a re-aggravation of the same injury as before), who knows, it's like a Pro*Line ad.

So with 2 Prince goals, the Avalanche DJ missed the opportunity of a lifetime to play some Spin Doctors. Or at least Let's go Crazy.
