If we had a healthy Ryan, Mac, and Stone, we probably win the series. We needed a bit more out of Michalek and Chiasson too.
The future is bright, this just sucks right now.
I'd say Karlsson wasn't playing 100% healthy. No way he skips practice that much. Something's bothering him. Michalek had a concussion and missed a bunch of time, and it's not like he was on his 35-goal scoring pace to begin with, either.
The way they played in the last 5 minutes with two guys in the crease is the way the should have been playing in the first 20 minutes. At one point in one of their PPs they had Karlsson and Wiercioch at the point and no-one in front, then Turris skates back to the point as well! They had three lined up across the blue line! Absolutely disgusting.
I also saw what Price was doing -- he got right up to the top of the crease or even a foot beyond before they got across the blue line. You need to get in front of him right at the tip of the crease and they were too late getting there. When he's at the top of the crease they would take an interference penalty if they tried to get in front of him, or they'd be standing so far out that they'd be blocking the shooter's view. I don't know how they did it Friday night, but whatever they did they did not repeat it. Habs adjusted somehow.
Still a great season and they clearly have some work cut out for them. Don't know who the Habs are going to draw in round two, but there's no way they are getting past the Rangers. Not that the Sens would have done much better.
