No shots on goal. And it was 8-0.

Russia and USA both with SO victories (over Denmark and Finland, respectively). Denmark has never won a game at these things and they were up 2-0 and came very close to making it 3-0 a couple of times. Didn't see the USA game, but it looks like neither one of those teams are going to steam-roll into the gold medal game.

Pretty embarrassing. I thought Lazar was supposed to be the big star of the tournament.

He will be when it counts. These first two games are pond hockey with dads against kids and the dads weren't being "nice" last night. Canada plays Germany tonight then have a day off before facing some real competition -- the Finns. I'm more interested in the Finland-Slovakia game this afternoon, actually, give us a chance to see how the Finns compare to a team we just trounced.

Sweden (Englund) plays at 1PM.

I had no idea that Eric Comrie is Mike Comrie's brother. Well, half-brother. Bill Comrie remarried after his first wife died of cancer.

Another shutout. 4-0 wasn't exactly a blowout (it was 2-0 in the third) but a shutout is a shutout, and a National crisis was averted when McDavid scored a goal and added two assists.

Statement goals from Lazar and McDavid who both looked much better last game.

US beat Germany 6-0. Canada only beat them 4-0. I know it doesn't work like that but hopefully this makes them less complacent. Another comparison match tonight as USA goes against Slovakia (let's see if they can do better than 8-0; doubt it).

That's quite something. Europeans are weird.

Looks a little happy to me.

I find it a bit ironic that Lazar is even through 3 games, while Nick Paul is +3. Both of Lazar's goals have come on the power play, of course. But I still wonder how much of that has to do with McDavid still rounding into game shape. I only saw from around the middle of the second, but it looked like McDavid was playing very well -- even better than when he go 3 points against Germany. Maybe the new left-winger has something to do with it or maybe he's just getting over the injury and adjusting to the pace.

Max Domi is having a heck of a tournament so far. How did the apple fall so far from the tree?

Apparently the young Domi might have some character issues.

I'm not concerned about Lazar's performance or McDavid for that matter.

Who the Diddle cares about plus minus n this tournament ?
