Figured Jared Cowen deserves a forum to himself.

Why is he struggling so much? Was it the surgeries? The holdout? Confidence?

Is he a core player in our system? If not, what should be done with him?

Not much you can do with him at this point. I guess you either cut bait immediately via trade, or hope he turns it around.

He doesn't have much value now, though another team may look at him as a Turris-style project.

Assuming we keep him, he'll have to be worked back into the lineup. It says a lot right now that we're missing a LD due to injury, and Cowen is still being scratched.

Not if he's been slacking in practice, which might explain the gap in between games. But definitely, he should be playing next game.

It happens. We'll likely never be able to make him decent because he's challenged on the ice. We got lucky with Ceci being so good, call it a wash.

Ceci was also a first-rounder that fell a bit because teams ahead of us weren't taking D-men. The really cool part about Ceci is that he didn't even take a full season to become a full-time NHLer. We didn't get lucky with a goo first rounder to make up for a top-10 pick that didn't pan out.
