I think the game tonight could get out of hand IF the refs let it get that way. You don't come out publicly more or less saying your team is going to target the injury on another player. What they say behind doors is one thing, but to come out like that just plain stupid.

I guess their theory is injure the Rangers best players and we have a chance to win. He should realize - it works both ways.

It's already worked the other way, or are you forgetting that the Hab's best player is out of the series?

Thrown it's not saying anything we don't already know about hockey--every team will use any advantage, including targeting injuries. It didn't start with Clarke on Kharlamov.

I think what Therrien is doing here is planting a seed of doubt in Brassard's mind. Maybe it he thinks they know what asils him he won't be as eager to go into the dangerous places.

Western Conf Final Game 4 goes tonight...

Blackhawks @ Kings - 9:00pm ET - Game 4 - Kings lead the series 2-1.

Kings must be confused after having a series lead this early... they've always been playing from behind. Huge game if they can get a win tonight and go up 3-1. Hawks will be bringing it for sure.

How about Brassard's breakaway slapper.  Crazy.  And then St Louis' OT winner...a taller goalie stops that (i.e. Price).  Tokarski played really well again.

That slapper reminded me of the old EA Sports NHL hockey video games when you'd hold your stick up for more power. Awesome.

The only guy I remember consistently taking breakaway slappers was Gretzky.  And he'd wire them low.  Brassard's was a beauty, top shelf.  It was an odd decision too, considering he even said afterwards they were aware of how far Tokarski was coming out...a deke would've made more sense.

But yeah, it was a NHL '94 calibre slapper.

Who can take Crawford seriously as a pressure goalie? Cup winner or not...there's something about him where he looks very easily rattled off his game. He's the MAF of the West.

I take Crawford seriously.  I think he's close to the opposite of MAF.  Nothing flashy, but rock solid and consistent.
