The cap on the buyout is either 3.6M for a couple of seasons and 4.6 for 4 of the season... He makes about 5.2M... So they save either 1.6M or 600K in buying him out.. Is it really worth it to make him go away?

Nonis will never do it. They're gonna have to hope he turns it around in the meantime.

Canucks eliminated from the playoffs. Shutout by the Ducks 3-0 to boot. Crowd was not happy, no surprise. Chanting to fire Gillis...

Can't see Torts sticking around there... maybe both will get the sack. Mess.

The Canucks are another organization that are Cussed.  Beyond the goaltending mess, they resigned the Sedins for a long time.  Too much loyalty to certain players, and you're at their mercy (see: Spezza, Jason).

Man badly burned at Rideau Carleton Raceway

A man is in critical condition with 2nd and 3rd degree burns to 90 percent of his body after being engulfed by flames.

Ottawa paramedics were called to the parking lot of Rideau Carleton Raceway at around 3:45 this afternoon for a call about a man on fire.

The man was treated aggressively with advanced life support.

Ottawa Police are investigating.

They have absolutely no outs with the Sedin's and they have to focus around them going forward and that's exactly the type of situation they have to avoid in Ottawa.  Let a new core develop, let a new group of players move the franchise forward, and damn let the coach mold the team the way he wants them to play and allow the organization to at least have some consistency.

I don't think there is a GM in the NHL that has done a worse job than Gillis in the past 5 years.  They lost Hodgson, Luongo, Schnieder, and in return have received Horvat, Kassian, Matthias, and Markstrom... that, looks, awful.

Gillis is a bumbling idiot. This is on the Canucks ownership that let him have last off-season and this season when he should have been canned.
