NEELY wrote:Sens for sure were the 2nd best team on the ice but when a team starts winning games they shouldn't be that is always a positive sign. Hate that goal from Anderson yesterday though, just an awful goal to give up and if the Sens want any chance at a playoff spot those have to stop going in.
Zibanejad's line was awesome. If they can get that same game from Conacher most nights then the Sens have themselves a player. Michalek looks to be finding his stride a little playing with guys who can get up and down the ice at the same pace he does.
Turris... #1 center in the NHL. Anyone who questions that is just ignorant. I'm also convinced at some point he can put up PPG numbers once he hits his peak.
Ryan, solid, not great but solid. MacArthur needed a game like that, he was fantastic. Hopefully when Spezza gets back they keep MacArthur far away from him so it doesn't kill his game again.
Karlsson... esssh, not a great game but w/e, they won. He needs to be much better.
Ceci, no idea why I didn't like him as a prospects when they drafted him but I've become a huge fan. Kid understands the game and how to play it.
Cowen looking way better. Methot finding his stride. Smith, Greening, Condra all were solid.
Pageau had a little jump, Stone looked better as the game went on (still not a fan). Kassian = win.

It truly is amazing how different this team plays without Spezza. PMac and co surely have to see this...
It seems that if Spezza is nursing any kind of injury, he's totally useless. His mind is distracted by whatever injury he has and his game, along with his line mates, suffers.Michallica wrote:NEELY wrote:The team is night and day without Spezza playing or at least not playing big minutes. and phillips....btw three of the best sens games were played with spezza in the lineup (detroit, st. louis, pitts). But this much is clear, they don't NEED spezza.
it's hard to figure out what the hell is affecting his play. but one thing has become clear is we're better off without him. time to make the most of a bad situation and get maximum return back for him. be it a couple of NHL players and a pick or some different package of picks and prospects. if you look at what Boston offered for iginla last year (not what pittsburg gave) i think is a minimum starting point for what we could get in return, probably get at least top 4 or top 6 plus a package.shabbs wrote:It seems that if Spezza is nursing any kind of injury, he's totally useless. He's only effective if he's 100% healthy. And in today's NHL, that's a rarity.
