Totally agree. Play the goalie that will give you the best chance at wins which is what makes this decision even more ridiculous than PMac's moustache.Ev wrote:But shouldn't it be about wins? Minnesota had no problem starting Harding the last 3 weeks or whatever .
He's had more support than Lehner, lol.SpezDispenser wrote:Probably the right choice. He's been nothing short of amazing for us for the prior 2 years and he's gotten basically no support from players in front of him this year.
He needs to make sure he keeps them in it early though, or it'll be the same old story.
Makes complete sense in my mind, they are doing everything they can for Anderson to take the reigns and control of the #1 job. If that doesn't happen then it's a full blown goalie conflict and a distraction. Anderson has earned himself enough rope in Ottawa to get this start IMO but he's close to hanging himself with that rope. Anything but a win from Anderson is pretty much unacceptable at this point with the way Lehner has played. If the Sens lose 1-0 and Anderson stops 49 of 50 (which sadly isn't far fetched at all) the result is the same. He's running out of racetrack.Michallica wrote:I'm shocked about this one....lehner has predominantly played against the bruins the most since anderson never fairs well. Now this one is a headscratcher....
Yeah, I guess that's true. More metabolic meltdowns in front of Anderson, more shots on Lehner. Pretty much equally bad support. This team better wake the heck up.NEELY wrote:He's had more support than Lehner, lol.SpezDispenser wrote:Probably the right choice. I'm gonna guess that PMac is giving him 3-4 games in a row to get going... after that, if it ain't looking good, it's "Release The Lehner" time. He's probably told the team and goalies this to set the table. Just my guess.NEELY wrote:If you bail on Anderson now you may as well trade him because once they give Lehner the net there's no going back.
Just because Lehner basically stops everything that shouldn't be held against him lolSpezDispenser wrote:Yeah, I guess that's true. Indeed but Luongo had a few chances to keep the net, Anderson is so different. Anything but perfection at this point from Anderson and people will be talking.Ev wrote:Yes, but why mess with a good thing when they were on a roll.
Cory Schneider took Luongo's job because he was playing well.
That's always been the case, and it's been 100% certain since we traded Bishop.SpezDispenser wrote:I don't mind this move, but the writing is on the wall with permanent ink at this point. Lehner is the future.
