We must be watching different games.  He's done as a legit threat 5 on 5.
You're correct.

Check your PVR.  You must be watching an old game.  Not saying this is Vintage Spezza but he is hustling out there, taking pucks away, winning face-offs.

Gryba is standing around.  Cowen keeps overcommitting going for the big hit.  Anderson is letting the first 2 goals in.  Team is playing like they expect it.   Karlsson hasn't done anything Karlsson-esque yet.
Aside from him getting physically dominated on the first goal, yah, great period. Did his line even have a shot? I mean is the best people can come up with for Spezza at this point is "well, he's trying, you can tell". haha, has that what it's come down to?

Seriously, what's the biggest difference between last years team and this years? Alfie was the Captain, Spezza is now the captain. This is what a Spezza lead team looks like and until they move on from the guy this is how they will look.

He's still front and center and is the teams leader, it's not gonna work even if he "doesn't play poorly".

Say goodbye to Bobby Ryan at the end of his contract then...

How many times do people have to be told that leadership doesn't come from one person - captain or not. It's a team thing with various individuals who either a)lead by example - a la Marc Methot, or b) lead by their work ethic and skill - a la Bobby Ryan.

Using Spezza as an excuse is pathetic right now.

He literally has no clue what to do out there, none. Leadership is a team concept for sure, not saying it isn't but at the same time you're leaders have to do something tangible most of the time, Spezza doesn't.

People can keep believing in the guy all they want, personally I think it's kind of cute, but it's not gonna happen man, lol. Give it up.

Haha seriously. Ryan is the future, Spezza sadly is the past.

You mean when he won the faceoff and tied up Bergeron, but Phillips and Michalek turned away and left the puck behind Spezza. Your blind hatred for anything Spezza is forcing me to defend him. He is playing poorly but you continue to take it to such extremes it forces defence of him.

His own man beat him, he lost the drawn, lol. How can you even blame someone else other than Spezza there?

Holy crap!! Rewind the tape, the puck was behind him and he held up Bergeron, Bergeron gets loose and gets the puck, you need your wingers to support you on the draw when you are up against the best faceoff man in the game.
