Ugh, I know... either way there is a whole lot of people in the East end and towards Quebec that they are missing out on in terms of the walk-up crowd.
They can walk up to Bell Center, then.  Honestly, I don't see what the issue is unless you are a season ticket holder.  If you get one of those flex packs where you only see 10 games, that should not be an issue so long as they fix the problem with congestion (especially the parking lot).
Because the thought of sitting in your car with 2 kids after 8 hours of work, waiting in traffic for 45mins to an hour and 1/2 isn't the most pleasant thought in the world? I cancelled my season tickets because it wasn't worth the drive out there on 1/2 the nights.

It doesn't surprise me the people in the west end don't "see the issue" lol.

On that note, I love the current location of the CTC.

I did it for 2 full seasons starting when our daughter was less than a year old (Brought her with us) and after that we bought a house that was a 7 minute drive to CTC. Of course after that we had to cancel them anyway due to financial reasons LOL. Still love the house, property and end of town though. :D

I can't see how anyone still working could afford to go to all 41 games, no matter where they lived. I live in Kanata, work at Moodie/Carling, but to make it to a 7PM game (I like getting there early) I still have to rush home. If I worked further out I would still rush home, I'd just not get to the arena as early as I like. Because my kids were young I would always park at the arena itself. Now that they are older I'd definitely consider parking up the street (Costco) and walking. Once you get out of the parking lot mess the difference between living in Kanata and out East is a 25 minute drive on the 417. Doing that on a weekday (school night) 2-3 times a year is manageable. I just don't see how anyone with a regular job and kids could do it, no matter where they lived. Even for me in Kanata, by the time I got home it was way past the kids' bedtimes, but adding 25 minutes to that would make it worse but it would not be the difference between pink fluffy unicorns and fire and brimstone.

I think if you work and have kids and go to a full season then you, realistically, need to have a lot of disposable income and have the live in nanny watch the kids on game nights.

Forbes magazine values the Sens at $380M.

Revenue : $83 M
Operating Income : $6.8 M
Debt/Value4 : 39%
Player Expenses : $36 M
Gate Receipts : $29 M

I wonder how they get these but I guess Eugene should be happy that a team he bought for $93M is now worth $380M-ish.

The Gene will never be happy until he bulldozes the Parliament buildings and erects the grandest casino you've ever seen.

Melnyk just keeps taking money out on the Sens at this point... like everyone has said the Senators do not lose money, Melnyk does.

Pretty much middle of the pack everywhere. The Devils are running 81 percent debt. I'm a little surprised that the Gene hasn't leveraged the team more than it is.

So members of the House of Commons and Senate gambling with taxpayers' money?

Wait they already do that ....

"Melnyk said in an email to the Sun Monday the valuation is nice but doesn’t mean much because he has no plans to sell the team ... ever."

Nah, I think you can probably take your seatbelts off. This has the potential to be a long, boring ride.

Maybe I shouldn't say that actually. We'll see what he spends this off season and have a better understanding.

As it sits right now, we'll have only 2 players making over 4M next season, EK and BFR. Melnyk better start spending some cash, and Murray better stop over paying the lower end of the roster. We need some high end talent on this team, and we need it soon.
