There is value in that as well. This is a guy that will do a lot of work off the ice and hopefully embrace Ottawa and vis versa. The right type of guy in this role is always important... there's a reason Ben Eager isn't in Ottawa right now who is probably a better player and guy that could have been had for the exact same price.

Eager is an idiot though.

Kassian is for sure more useful than Scott, there's no question about that. Kassian is good for 8 mins a night by the looks of it without causing his team any damage on the scoreboard. That's what you want.

As long as he's not Lessard v2.0.

Probably not, the guy can play a little and not be a liability on the ice. Only thing you hope is he doesn't chance a fight which is detrimental to the team.

RHS, decent size, hard shot, not afraid to drop 'em. My guess is Gryba was told to get himself a place in Ottawa, and Rutkowski is Bingo-bound.

We're now at the 50 contract limit. Technically 53 but 3 players contract slide so we're really at 50.
