anybody knows if Dekeyser is meeting with anyone of the sens brass in the next few days? apparently he's in TO and also some folks from Nashville are making a pitch for him in TO also.

I've only heard him linked to Detroit and the Rangers.

They want picks/prospects, don't want to be committed to a player beyond this season, low cap hit, body that can step right in... I think he gets claimed by the Flames or Panthers.

No i've read somewhere the sens were in on it. I think there was about 6 teams linked to him. the wings is an obvious one since he did attend their summer training camp. you'd think you want Paul Mac in there telling him that if he liked the wings he'll love the sens.

I think we are in on him, we're in on all NCAA guys it seems.

I doubt we'll land him he'll go to Detroit or someone who is desperate enough to give him lots of icetime this year. We've already got enough rookies on the blueline as is.

what happened to that 6'8 defenceman (don't recall his name) that was a chara-lite and everyone wanted him??

We were supposedly 2nd choice.

As for how we missed out ? Tampa probably promised him ice time or more(top-4 ice time etc). Their D is awful enough. These guys want NHL ice time and the NHL paycheck that comes with it, regardless whether they can handle it or not(or whether it is best for their development).

I doubt DeKeyser will come here either for that reason.

I know you never have enough prospects and all that, but we have Methot and Wiercioch, plus Cowen when he's back, and then there's the Big Rig. We've already seen what Wiercioch can do, and DeKeyser is completely unproven at the pro level. There's no room for him on our blue line.
