Again, not sure why MacLean - who has coached O'Brien into the NHL - ever scratched him. I watched his game closely and never had one single issue with it. Not only does he work hard, he doesn't just play a north/south game, he has some hidden skills.

If I was Mac, I'd work with him until he started to produce consistently. Why not? You can uncover major offense with him, I'm positive. He could be a 35-40 point guy with good D.

Fair enough actually, I was thinking of a 3rd liner, perhaps converting him to wing to play with Smith + Neil or whatever. I'll temper it to 30, but still, he's got some offense IMO.
