I wonder if Wiercioch has ever played center Smile

I remember his first DC, he was better at skating with the puck than any of the forwards.

He's got 15, good enough for a 14th place tie.

Anyone see the hit Karlsson put on Prust? I wish there was a youtube clip of it.

A little pay back for this

Benoit is quite willing to sacrifice himself to block shots. it says the guy is so happy to have finally made the league that he's gonna do what's asked of him. I really hope that continues and he can get a one year deal next year. Lundin is do back when? what do we do with him or who get's sent down. everyone on the team now has earned their place it seams. tough call.

Weircioch will be sent down, no question in my mind. He could very well be trade bait. Like we were talking about last night, the Sens left side on the blueline for the next 4 or 5 years will consist of Cowen, Methot, Phillips, and Boroweicki. Weriocioch is going to have a tough time sticking especially considering Benoit has outplayed him and is a better player and fit at this point as well... he could get a 1 way deal next year.

So next year the blueline could potentially be

Methot/Karlsson
Cowen/Gonchar (I hope)
Boroweicki/Phillips
Benoit

That's pretty solid.
I'm not sure how feasible this is but woud there be a possibility of Weircioch learning to play the opposite side? I was just listening this morning on the radio that Nick Leddy has done just that this past year and is doing really well in his new position.

That, my friend, is a pipe dream. Never been done.

Seriously, you keep harping on this like it's the easiest thing in the world when in fact there are very few defenders who can do it on a regular basis and do it well. The reason LH shots can move over to the right side with a little more ease is because there are no where near as many RH shooting D man and thus a lot of them are forced to move over. It's 100 times easier playing D on your correct side for a ton of reasons.

There's a reason RH shooting D men are in high demand but you fail to realize and just come up with "clever" remarks about it like every D man has this ability. They don't, at least not with the same ability a RHer does. Clearing the puck is easier, getting beat a long the boards is less likely, keeping the puck in at the blueline is easier, and to a lesser extent a player can make a decision with the puck a lot quicker and doesn't panic on their forehand.

The Sens need another RH shot on the blueline going forward and Ceci will probably be it but asking a guy like Weircioch who can barely hold his own in the defensive zone at the best of time to move over to the right side and ask him to be effective is a huge task.

that's a big If he decides to resign or BM actually wants him back.
Also if it doesn't look like we're gonna make the playoffs(Spezza out makes that possibility a bit more plausible especially that more injuries may occur) then BM might decide to deal Gonchar by the trade deadline. who knows right?

Hope Gonchar is resigned for a year honestly. He's been really good for the Sens for the most part.

The list keeps growing doesn't it. Nick Leddy is the latest to accomplish this rare feat.

I never said it was easy just not as rare as claimed.

Never said it was rare, anyone can be put on the right side. Doesn't mean they are as effective playing the position as someone else who is actually a RH shot.

If you are comparing Gryba to Wiercioch saying "who should be playing" if there was only 1 spot as the #6 guy on the right side open. It's a no brainer.

Philips and Wiercioch were paired in Tampa, I don't wanna see that disaster again
Probably the worst shift I've ever seen in mroe than a year Facepalm

It would be like asking him to play center!

I can't imagine the raping that the league would get if this guy was playing with Chicago's top 2 lines
