You think he might have been trying to prove something? 40 saves, plus all 5 guys in the shootout... HolyCow!

I thought they had it up by two at 4-2. Gonchar and Phillips were poor. Boroweicki looked solid. Bishop looked poor. Not great, but easily fixable by Mac.

Lindback is average at best. No playoffs with him as a number one imo.

Garbage reffing, weak effort....

can't blame the refs for the loss tonight, no way. Refs were fine after the 2nd and the Sens had a 2 goal lead twice. Bishop and sloppy play is the reason... Phillips and Gonchar were not at their best.

I hardly ever blame the refs on any losses, but when you spend half of the first period of a b2b game in Florida, you'll be out of energy by the 3rd period, which was exactly what happened there. Even Erik "infinite stamina" Karlsson dumped the puck with 1 min left down 1 goal.
So bottom line, not blaming it on the rest entirely, but they had a hand in it.

The refs didn't help but this isn't on them. The Sens ran out of gas and in a season like this it will happen. Bishop had to be 1/2 decent and he wasn't... he was awful.

So why did the Bolts have 20th Anniversary on their ice? They came in to the NHL at the same time as the Sens. Our 20th was last season.

Did they forget to remove it?

I personally think that they went with Bishop because they saw some things in Anderson's game that were troubling in terms of desperation saves that weren't necessary but were a direct result of his errors.

I also saw the rest of the team getting sloppy in the previous game. This team was destined to lose last night unless they had a strong performance from Bishop. I don't think Anderson would have had a strong game last night.

That's a stretch to say the least. Anderson was stopping everything basically. He's been the best goaltender int he NHL to this point in the season. They got Bishop in because they needed to get Bishop in.

The team was sloppy, no question about it but Bishop didn't look comfortable at all in the game, he was bobbling pucks, kicking the rebounds into the slot, and just generally had no feel for what was going on.

The sooner they move him the better because while they may have moved that elephant in the room in Lehner, that giant elephant is still waiting outside. Bishop is a distraction with him not being as good as Lehner at this point nor will he ever be and his stupid contract status where people will be counting down the games until he becomes an RFA going into the off season. As long as there is some sort issue in the room and something the media can harp on over and over the team will be distracted and forced to answer stupid questions. Move him out for a 3rd if that's what it takes, big deal, cost you a round in the draft to have a year of stability in goal and in your organization. Great investment, great move, time to move on.

Value must not be good right now.
Give him some games against Washington or Philadelphia. Teams who dont have as much depth and have weak goaltending where we can score 4+

Big time! He looked great, aggressive, strong...everything we expected minus the penalties.

Also:
Gonchar, 21min, -3
Philips, 20min, -3
Karlsson, 27min, +1
Methot, 26min, 0

We better get another top4D looks like this season is gonna kill the oldsters

I would seriously scratch Philips from time to time to give him some rest. Gonchar should too but we are too thin on the right side

I'm sure they want to get those 7 games or whatever to preserve his RFA status.

Gonchar and Philly looked crappy and slow.

It didn't help last night that Michalek took a penalty very early in the game.

Bishop looked to panic when he couldn't cover the puck... and next you knew it was in the net. He seemed rattled the rest of the game.

Next 3 games are going to be difficult to win.

Pitts
Wash - they seem to turn around a losing streak when they play the Sens.
Mtl -- Sens can't seem to win against them.

I'm really nervous for these next 3 games... It's gonna be hard to win.

I didn't understand the decision to play bishop against an offensive powerhouse like tb. He could have gone it theoretically obviously because he's a good tender, but it seems odd to have him shake off the rust vs stamkos and co.

If Anderson wasn't a former panther that would have been perfect Bishop vs panthers and Anderson last night. Whatever though, Mac knows best
