Packers got JOBBED last night. Man, we knew this would happen at some point... refs Diddle up a call and decide the outcome of the game. Brutal.

Goodell needs to get the regular refs back. This is turning into a joke. Are we at the tipping point yet?

It's like Bettman and Goodell are having a competition on who can Diddle up their league better.

Are you suggesting that "real" refs would not have screwed up? How many times a year do coaches challenge a ref's decision and win? Each and every one of those times are refs screwing up. Are there any stats to back this up -- specifically, what percentage of coaches' challenges stood up last season compared to this season?

This was a Diddle up beyond all Diddle ups that I have ever seen in the NFL. It is mind boggling how this happened. Truly mind boggling. The two refs looked clueless when making the call, and the ref that did make the call had no way of seeing who caught it... and how it didn't get overturned under the hood is beyond me. They need to setup a WAR Room like the NHL to have the NFL head office review anything controversial.

Sure, mistakes happen, but not on this level.

Heh. Check the picture... Jennings (Green Bay player) caught the ball in their end zone for an interception... Tate (Seattle player) ended up under Jennings, with his hand on the ball which was being cradled by Jennings and somehow is awarded the TD. Even after a 10-min review under the hood. They let the call stand. Time had expired on the clock. It was a hail mary pass. Seattle was down by 5. Game on the line.

Yep. NFL is big money in the betting world. Monday Night Football is huge as it's the only game of the night. Which made for added scrutiny and focus and fuelled the rage.

One on-line betting organization is even refunding people that lost money on the blown call. Hilarious.

No, but I saw the replays, read some blogs and the NFL's explanation. It was ruled (on the field) that it was simultaneously caught by both players, and video review failed to find any definitive reason for overturning the decision on the field. They also missed an offensive interference, but it's not like it was the first time *that* happened; and, besides, the ball was caught so what interference?

That's the league that would most easily survive a lockout since replacement players would generate outcomes and the gambling degenerates would keep supporting the NFL.

Finally.

Interesting to note... the NFLRA don't vote on the proposal until Fri/Sat. Goodell temporarily lifted the lockout so that the regular refs could work tonight, ahead of the vote.

GMEN! Awesome weekend. Cowboys lose, Eagles lose, Giants win. Very nice. RGIII continues to amaze everyone - damn that kid is good. Giants host the Redskins next weekend - that should be a good game.
