Parise isn't signing here, he probably already knows where he will go.
Melnyk would never approve giving Parise a massive front-loaded deal that lasts until he is 40, especially with a delayed season looking more and more likely. Look at Karlsson's contract, only costs the Gene $1M right now.
Can't understand why people complain about Nash's contract when Parise will get a similar cap hit, double the term and probably a $10M signing bonus payable immediately but the season won't start til December.
Eugene would tell Bryan Murray to jump in the Ottawa river if he asked for approval for such an expenditure.

I don't like your attitude, young man. Parise will not get "double the term" of Nash. You speculate on things too much. Are you affiliated with HockeyBuzz?

Parise will get a retirement contract which will take him to 40 years old. He just turned 27 so that is 13 years which is about double the 6 years left on Nash's contract, so twice as long, aka double the term.
Feel free to tell me where my educated guess is wrong ? or is calling me Eklund the best you can do ?
And if you seriously think Parise will sign here, there's this bridge I'd like to sell you.

1) I don't think Parise will get a 13 year contract.
2) I forgot you could predict the future.
3) I never said that I seriously thought Parise would sign here. But I bet he WOULD sign here if we threw enough money at him (but yes, obviously we won't hand him a ridiculous contract).

Suter - Detroit or Minny.
Could you potentially see a Bobby Ryan+ for Rick Nash?
Pierre McGuire said on the radio this morning that Bobby Ryan and Randy Carlyle did not get along... Not sure what his issues are right now.. but I'm surprised Anaheim is giving up on a great young player.

Pittsburg got nothing for Jaromir Jagr in hindsight (Kris Beech, Michal Sivek and Ross Lupaschuk). Washington only got Anson Carter for Jagr as well.
Boston got something, but not much that made a diffrence from a contenders point of view (Marco Sturm, Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau (and the two last mentioned subsequently becam Andrew Ference and Chuck Kobasew)).
Atlanta got nothing and then a little less for Hossa (Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen and Angelo Esposito).

That Anaheim may be looking for building blocks and not payroll... or something to that..
