Ok, so among the many rumours of "where will Parise and Suter" wind up, one can talk about Minnesota as a destination.

Apparently current Wild Tom Gilbert and pending FA Ryan Suter are friends, as well Minnesota born Parise is said to be friends with Suter. So is it possible that both Suter and Parise end up as Wild next season?

Currently, the Wild have 6 dmen on their NHL roster, a bunch of them however are on ELC's. Under contract as of now are:
Tom Gilbert
Clayton Stoner
Steven Kampfer
Marco Scandella
Nate Prosser
Jared Spurgeon

Those 6 combine for only a little over $8M in cap space on the blue line. That is probably among, if not the cheapest, blue line in the NHL right now.

Kurtis Foster and Mike Lundin are both UFAs. Chay Genoway, Justin Falk, and Kris Fredheim are all RFAs.

It is possible that the Wild add Suter, re-sign 1 or 2 other FAs, and demote others to Houston of the AHL.

At forward, the Wild currently have 10 players signed for about $33M.

Adding Parise would likely cost $7.5M, but would give them a potential top line of: Parise-Koivu-Heatley

Of those currently unsigned by the Wild, Guillaume Latendresse and Nick Johnson are both RFAs, while Erik Christensen, Jed Ortmeyer, Warren Peters, Stephen Veilleux, and Matt Kassian are all UFAs.

Minny could add Parise, and re-sign 1 or more forwards to give them 12-13 or so forwards.

Add all that on to a roster that already has a stellar goalie in Nik Backstrom and Josh Harding (UFA) and the Wild instantly become a playoff team once again.

Harding's name is also mentioned as one of the top UFA goalies available. Even if he doesn't return, the Wild are still contenders.

Sounds nice.

Hey, Kurtis Foster is a UFA. I believe he's from Ottawa. Say hello to our FA defenceman signing!

Foster is awful, that'd be a huge mistake IMHO.

You probably said Randy Robitaille was awful, and he sure proved you wrong!

So if true, then that's one or two less players they have to re-sign. I', not sure Latendresse will be back. 6 ps in 11 games last year and 9 in 19 this past season.

Granlund's probably on the team too. That gives them 2 top centers (Koivu the other obviously).
