This is a time where it's okay to be proud of your team and the individuals within that team.

What are you grading against, though? A-effort from Cosby and A-effort from Greening are entirely different. Although I don't think you did that. Still, I think your objectivity is being out-muscled by your fan-bias.

Perhaps, but being in a playoff spot with a team I thought would score 12 goals all year has made be into a grade-giver.

So basically everyone gets an A?

edit: actually I may agree with most if you're giving them grades for their ASSIGNED ROLES. then that's fair

Precisely.

I'd drop KDaug's mark a bit. He was an A range player when he first came up, but his offence has dried up a bit. I'd give him a B+. You could make a similar argument for Greening. When he was producing and playing his game, he was an A or A- player. When he isn't producing as much, his mark drops a bit. I'd give Konopka a C+ (though he has impressed). Phillips is a B+ (he was around a D- for much of last year, but he's much improved this year. Still, our defence needs to improve in many ways). I'd consider bumping Neil up to an A- (he's been very impressive this season). I'd probably give BM and PM As rather than A+s. Otherwise, I'd probably agree with your assessment.

You made a good point. A team that was projected to be in the bottom 5 or so in the league that's in a playoff position as we approach the half-way mark is worthy of some high praise.

Valid points. I thought others would give their own votes in this thread, but either way, this is a team that has played each of its roles to a T.

Not good with giving a grade value, but Smith has been awesome. He's got the potential to be a perfect pest and scoring threat. If he continually puts up 20+ and keeps playing with that edge, I'd offer him a long term deal.

Anderson's been inconsistent, whether on him or the team infront of him.

Karlsson's an all-star, nothing more to say.

Cowen's not only solid defensively as we pretty much expected, but he's got some good offensive instinct.

Kuba's rebounded nicely, as with Gonchar.

Phillips is what he is... not that thrilled with him. As a DFD he needs more D.

Alfredsson impressed despite the age and injuries.

Spezza's doing what I expect of him.
