Man... Danes almost scored on themselves on their own PP.

CAN up 2-0 early with a shortie...

Stone should have two. Credited for one, and should get credit for his 2nd (he tipped in a shot by Harrington).

He's got a sore hand but is still playing. He's 4 goals from tying the all-time record for goals by a Canadian in the WJC's.

This is so fun to watch as a Sens fan.

on one hand, I like seeing what Stone is doing. On the other, I don't, because now every casual Sens fan, and the majority of Sens fans, will overrate the Diddle out of him and expect hi to translate all his scoring to the pros.

Well when you look at the guys who were the leading scorers for Canada, they all pretty much were NHLers. So that is a good thing. Making the NHL is guaranteed, but he's closer than a lot of guys to doing that. He should be in Bingo for 2-3 years after he is done in WHL.

I really doubt he'll be in the AHL for very long unless his speed completely screws him. He's got the classic goal scoring instincts, seems to know where to be, has a nice quick release. I hate to say (or not I guess), he really reminds me of Heatley.

Yeah and Heatley is doing so well these days ... on his way to another 50g season ..... :crossarms:

If he's not fast enough to keep up with the play he'll be another Cheechoo. Until I see Stone light it up in an NHL game(or even exhibition) I have zero expectations.

I really hope he turns out but he still has a ways to go.

I didn't know if you were serious or kidding about Heatley - I don't follow the stats around the league as much, had to go check. Laugh1

I think Stone's a way better skater than post broken Cheechoo. One or two more years of training and he should be just fine, the raw skills are there in a big way. Obviously it's not a guarantee, but given Stone an elite level playmaker (Huberdeau/Spezza) and you have gold it looks like. I guess it doesn't hurt that Strome is a hell of a player as well, perhaps insert Zibanejad in there at some point for the Sens.

Yeah, let's just enjoy it for now. His skating looked pretty bad, but no worse than a half dozen current Sens players. Did Foligno look any better when he first came up? I don't think he does even now.

With his current skillset alone Stone could make am NHL career standing in front of the goalie on the PP. And play 3rd/4th line the rest of the time.

Ahem, Stone scored goals #3 and #6 for Canada. The game ended 10-2 which makes goal #3 the GWG. Again. Sweet Smile

My son mentioned that someone had 8 points in that game. 2 goals and 6 helpers. StickmanDancing
