I've been looking through and can't figure it out. Just create another team name and have the administrator delete that team.

Fact of the matter is a ton went right for Toronto last year and they still weren't close. Everything went wrong for Ottawa last year and it's very unlikely everything goes wrong again.

I'll take what Ottawa is putting out there on Friday vs what Toronto is.
Both teams have a lot of questions surrounding them... especially around performance and health "ifs". No doubt about that. Will be interesting to see what happens in the NE. We may be looking at only one Canadian team in the post season this year.

I agree that both teams have huge question marks. MY point is, the difference between the two teams is last year everyone in Toronto overachieved (or so it seems) and everyone in Ottawa underacheived (or so it seems).

I fail to see where there is an seperation between the two teams other than Ottawa has the more proven goaltender who has the ability to steal games and Ottawa has the legit number 1 center. I also think Ottawa has a little more character and has/is being built the correct way.

I definitely agree we have more character and Murray's whooping Burke's arse building it, but we're a long way away from where the Leafs are right now IMO.

Where are the Sens that distant from the Leafs?

I don't think they're that distant, I just don't see our current line-up holding up over an 82-game season. I'd argue the Leafs' top-9 and their top-6 D are better overall than ours over the course of an 82-game season. And I'm only talking about this year. I do think we have a far brighter future with the young kids coming up and we'll be back up where we should be soon enough.

We can't rely on Anderson to steal 65+ games like he did vs Boston. There's just no way. He can only do so much. We're going to have a hell of a time scoring again this year.

Leafs are in for their own set of struggles... if Reimer does crap the bed out of the gate, it's going to be one long season for them. Lupul, Connolly, Kessel, Grabs, Kulemin, Bozak are all gonna be under the microscope. Same for Komisarek.

We'll see how it all plays out. I do look forward to watching Leaf nation go mental as their team frustrates the crap out of them again. Heh heh.

At this point, the offense is much, much better IMO.

- Kessel, young, proven 30 goal man

- Grabovski - one of the real things on that team IMO, he could hit 25-30/60 points

-MacArthur - last year may have been a little high in point totals, but I'd say 20 is attainable

-I'm a fan of Kulemin's - he's what we wanted Regin to be last year

- I'm not a huge fan of Connolly, but if he's healthy (ha), he's a very good playmaking C

-Lupul is a wild card, but he's another guy that can contribute 20 goals

Right there, they outscore the Sens easily IMO.

As for the D - I'm really not a fan of Phaneuf, but I realize the massive potential for him to be an impact D-man. I'm not sure we have anyone like that on the team in terms of size, nastiness, good in the defensive zone (or he was until recent years) and a destroyer on the PP. Cowen might be close, Karlsson is a different beast, but Phaneuf probably deserves some respect

Liles was a nice pick up.

Schenn is more like Cowen, but advanced in his development

Reimer is a young goalie who has had success at every level leading up to the NHL, then had success there too. If we had him, we'd be ecstatic about his future. If he falters, I'll admit, they're in trouble though. The Sens have the Leafs beat in this area IMO, but we'll see.

I like MacLean and I HATE Wilson, so I'll definitely give that to the Sens.

All the question marks people have about Ottawa are the same with Toronto for the most part.

Goaltending (the most important spot) easily in Ottawa's favour.

Defense, maybe about even but even then Ottawa's D has way more experience and way more offense coming from it.

Offense, maybe the Leafs have the edge but they still don't have a number 1 center. Kessel is obviously the best goal scorer on either team as it stands right now but over all, the top 9's are VERY similar.

I think the Leafs annual March run has people fooled (again). They do it every year and the following year is always the same. Fletcher, Fergison, Burke, doesn't matter.

Last year they started strong, too.

It's just the middle part they suck at.

They won 4 games, big woop. Most teams win 3 or 4 in a row every year.
