There's one in Kanata...down off March road.

Oh, what now? Another thing you hate? I'm shocked.

Seriously, it's a restaurant. You don't like it, don't go. It's actually a decent place for families, as you can actually get healthy breakfast options for kids….other than that, I would certainly rather grab a greasy breakfast at any number of other places.

Hate is a strong word.

All the way in Kanata? I'm familiar with that one actually, but Merivale was closer. But as tasty as Cora's Buckwheat Blessing is, it is damn expensive. Breakfast in general is pretty pricey. But Broadway's special is just awesome.

Broadway's breakfast poutine, FTW.

Also, Gabriel's has a delicious breakfast at somewhat reasonable prices.

No, and no.

Back when we were looking at moving from our townhome and into a bigger house, we ended up buying a Phoenix home on Insmill Crescent. At the time they had the Terry Fox extension already in the site plans. I was working at what was still called Newbridge Networks, and I figured I'd hop on my bike, down to the bottom of Insmill, cross the laneway that was already planned between two houses, and I'm no Terry Fox, just a 10 minute bike ride to work. About a year later the house was finally finished (was 3 months late), we stayed there for 4+ years, then moved to a smaller house for a year and a half and, finally, to the one we are in in Morgan's Grant, where we will be 5 years this March. So when the extension was finally completed (earlier this year) it was about 9-1/2 years after we first saw it on a site plan for a new development.

And they built it as two lanes merging into one. Who does that, and why? It already gets congested now, and when all those houses they are building are occupied you will double the traffic. I remember visiting my sister in a Dallas suburb when she first moved in -- it was a 2-lane (both ways) "highway" to the middle of nowhere. Fast forward a few years and all three lanes are well in use as the neighborhood grew around it. It didn't take a decade -- it was probably pretty close to full after 5 years. The cost to bring the equipment out twice, rip up the existing road to widen it, the inconvenience to everyone -- just extremely poor planning.

March Road widening was the same. By the time they finally started to widen it up to Mitel, the company was dying. Meanwhile Newbridge was growing and ended up expanding from a half of the Corp building to Tower 1 2 and 3, plus all the additional office space on Terry Fox and Legget -- meanwhile March Road was still a single lane past Mitel. It should have been 3 lanes in each direction 10 years ago, with overhead or underground exits toward the Innovation Drive side of things.

Wow, that's quite detailed. Anyway, the only expansion I care about is widening the 417 as much as they can between Kanata and highway 7.

Yes. He was at 113 and we were at the top of the hill in 169. Walked past his house all the time with the kids on the way to the playground. He used to drive his SUV too fast for my liking on a street with lots of little kids (including mine).
