After all the complaining that Fisher should be moved to the wing because his game is more suited to playing there, would you really want to move a player whose game is similar (north-south, crash and bang, etc) from wing to center? scratch

The argument with Fisher is that he didn't have the vision to be a playmaker to the wingers, where apparently Landeskog does. Plus, it's very early to tell, but Landeskog seems to have slightly better offensive instincts around the net. If what people are saying is accurate, he'll be driving the net while Silfverberg and Alfie feed him the puck (for example).

Obviously I could be wrong, but that's the sort of reports I keep reading/hearing.

He (Lando) is still a very talented guy, he's Mike fisher coming down the wing but he actually ends up in front of the goalie Laugh1
He's just not as talented as Strome and RNH but he's still a top 10 talent in the draft, easily.

PErhaps they see Silfverberg as a 2nd line winger and maybe they go with Strome or RNH because of that. Maybe the winger Landeskog may be is already in the system, at least in terms of how they view things? Maybe RNH is the way to go, maybe having in the fold would be the best thing and he could turn players like Butler, Silfverberg, and Michalek into 60-70 points players going forward.

I think RNH might be the way to go, but it's heart-breaking because I love Landeskog and everything he stands for and the way he plays, the effort he gives, the talent, the grit.

Either way, between RNH and Landeskog, I won't be complaining.

Either way, there will be some nights for sure we will regret not taking the other, no matter who it is.

I don't like how RNH is close to EDM so they can scout him a lot. They still need a centre.
Hopefully they have a lot of scouts in Sweden.
FOrtunately LArsson had a good WJC and Scouts know he was playing trhough injuries.

Q players playing in a league with a lot less talent and not putting up the same numbers... they are not even in the discussion with Strome and RNH.

Who knows but the lack of defensive depth in Edmonton's organization is worrysome to say the least... are they going to try to fix it or just keep adding offense? We'll see I guess.

Couturier - 56gp 36g 57a 93pts 36pim

They sure all have nice stats.
I will add to that that:

RNH - Not enough firepower on his team to give him nice passes to score some goals, but setting up left and right hence the 74 Assists. Best showing from all of them in international competitions.
Strome - AS dynamic as you can get. Stamkos style and faaast. Not much on his team either.
Huberdeau - Nasty player, great hands and vision and will go to the dirty areas but playing on the most stacked team in the CHL has to be considered. Playing in the worst league.
Couturier - One man show in Drummondville, Had mono in early season but still managed to battle back. But also playing in the worst league and bigger than most guys. Still, the only one that made the WJC team.

I heard Smid and Petry have had nice seasons. Haven't seen them much but is there potential there?

Shannon has had a nice season too, lol, wouldn't build a forward group around him.

Couturier is definitely in the discussion Laugh1 You don't make the WJC for no reason.

Funny, Strome gets ranked below him AGAIN in the recent ISS rankings.

PS: Just because you don't like the guy doesn't mean the Sens wouldn't be targeting him. You =/= the Sens. If they seriously need a second line centre then he's a strong candidate.

Foligno made the team and he's awful but all the sudden because of the WJC he is now considered a steal by some in the 4th round. Couturier was picked because he fit the team needs in terms of size mixed in with skill. Cameron had an idea in mind when he built that team, Couturier was fortunate enough to fit that mold.

As for Strome, I said his draft status will depend on what he does coming out of the playoffs, as of right now what he is doing is more impressive than what Couturier is doing in The Q.

Like I said, if you would like to wager whether or not Couturier is taken in the top 5 I absolutely will. ISS rankings outside of the top 3 are hardly ever inline with what actually happens let alone in mid season rankings.

Point being is ISS was pimping this guy for 2 years now and he's taken a major fall in the ranking based on what they came out with just before Christmas and despit being part of Team Canada. A team with a decent scouting staff will take the riser in a tougher league who is 8 months younger in Strome over Couturier... if he is picked in the top 4 it's because Florida has no idea what it's doing.
