Seen Stamkos was after the lottery I think.

After the lottery but before they made their pick.

That`s the point. It was confirmed they would get the 1st overall. Edmonton, not yet. So it's different.

Difference being, Edmonton can go ahead and start a "Anyone see where NPH is?" campaign now because no one in their right mind will pick the guy in the Top 2 which is where they know they're picking.

Whatever the outcome, I have 100% faith in Murray that he will get the player he wants and the player he believes will help The Sens the most going forward.

I've personally taken more of an interest in Nashville's standing than Ottawa's so yeah, that hurt.

As long as theey dont make the playoffs. 12-14 is where they probably end, which is fine. considering the logjam at 8-15 for the available draftees

I think the first 7 or 8 draft picks are written in stone at this point.

Landeskog, RNH, Larsson, Murphy, Strome, Huberdeau, and Couturier... maybe Hamilton sneeks in there if a team really feels they need a D man *cough NYI*

Here's a thing for thought: BPD (I think it's safe to say he has legit sources) said some teams have Strome top 2 in their list, on HFB in the prospects section. For some reason, he hasn't talked a lot about that in the Sens' section.
I think it's possible one of those teams is OTtawa. So if that'S the case, I think it doesn't really matter if we end up 4th-5th (which is where I see us finishing at worst all things considered).
Edmonton is taking RNH or LArsson
COlorado I assume would take Larsson or Landeskog
Florida would probably take the one left of the big 3
So we take Strome.

Senchirp said as much in the comments section of one of his blogs about a week or so ago.

I think Landeskog goes 2nd if Ottawa is drafting there, I think he does 3rd no matter who is drafting. That said, if Ottawa falls out of the top 3 (only if they get jumped in the lotto) then I would be pretty shocked if they didn't go with Strome, I said that just before BDP starting signing the tune. Like I said, Couturier will falls to either 6th or 7th when draft day comes.

I'm not super sentimental but I'd be disappointed if we couldn't get into position to draft Landeskog. On the other hand, I agree if we fall too far out of the Top 3, we won't be overpaying to move up to pick Landeskog.

We'll see, it's tough to say but we will know our worst case scenario in about 1 month from now in terms of where they will be drafting. Winning that number 1 lotto spot would be sweat if Colorado could somehow stay ahead of Edmonton.

I think Pierre Dorion likes skill and hockey sense more than anything... Not sure how much say he has on a top 3 pick but I believe he would like RNH ahead of Landeskog in our list. But that'S just my impression.
Why? I think I read somewhere he and FOrsberg convinced Murray to take Karlsson when Murray wanted Colborne.

Strome is a good player, but I'm not suffering through this crap this year and not getting a top 3 pick - diddle that.

That would certainly suck.

Falling out of the top 3 would be a little tough to swallow for sure. The bonus in all of this is Col and Edm play each other 2 more times, so there is 4 points The Sens will have to get no matter what.

The good thing is, if they finsih 3rd the chances of them drafting 3rd or better are around 70%.

It's important to be careful not to get carried away by the hype behind some players. Strome is not too popular because he had an average year last year and was undersized. But the guy added 20 lbs in the summer and started dominating. Also, he's 8 months younger than Landeskog...

If Landeskog, RNH, and Larsson are gone, it HAS to be Sean Couturier. Everybody is massively underrating this guy.
