If the Oilers take a forward, their fans will kill themselves.

A lot of fans actually want a Centre for Hall and Eberle.

I'm gonna get killed for this, but I honestly think Landeskog is my least favourite of the "top four guys". Would still love to have him though.

Well, we're last in the East with a gap of 3 points between us and the Isles. A regulation loss to the Oil today will find us in last place in the NHL.

Man.

That's hard to take.

Gotta think of the rebuild...

I've accepted the rebuild, so I was openly cheering when I found out the Devils and Isles won. I could care less if we win another game all year (or at least until we are mathematically guaranteed to finish last).

IMO, it's going to get worse before it gets better

Top-four being Larsson, RNH, Landeskog and Couturier? I'd say Landeskog is a good candidate to replace Alife. Right wing - check. Carries the team on his shoulders - check. Swedish - check. On the other hand, with Fisher gone we are going to be in desperate need of a center.

We need a forward, my least favorite of the 3 is Couturier, I would be happy with RNH or Landeskog.

Have we all but given up on Regin to become a 2nd line centre? I'd like to see him get a really nice shot (like the rest of the season) at centre on the 2nd line. Hell, it's not like his production is going down any. Laugh1

Interesting. I find myself not drawn to Couturier the way I was earlier in the year. Not sure why. I'd put him as my least favourite, but what do you like about Couturier that makes you say that?

I guess. For a guy listed as 6'2"/205 he plays a lighter game than, well, Spezza. Do we really want our 1-2 punch down the middle being those two? Maybe Regin needs to hit the gym this summer, work on his legs, upper body, core strength -- the works.

Maybe he's a RNH guy.

Yeah, it's a defining summer for Regin coming up. Tons of core work to do to bulk up - but the passion and drive and skill seem to be there. He can do it IMO.

if we finish last I would trade the pick to edmonton for Linus Omark and their pick-which I would use on Landeskog.

reason being Landeskog is 6' -210lbs and NHL ready, and would fit on the Left Wing with Spezza. He is also Sweedish and Alfie could mentor Landeskog, Omark, Karlsson, and Rundblad for the next tear or so until he retires.

Michalek Spezza Landeskog
Alfie Regin Omark
Foligno Kelly Neil
O'brien Winchester Smith
Butler

Gonchar Karlsson
UFA(Alberts) Rundblad
Campoli Cowen
Carkner

UFA (Schneider pleeeease)
Lehrner

I could watch that for a year, pick up another top 5 pick in 2012 draft, then get two more UFA's (Sharp, Stoll) and we are back in contention. No one messes with the young guys with Neil, Alberts, Carkner and Cowen in the lineup. Two year turn around.

Sometimes I read your trades and they are pretty crazy, this one though, I like. it makes sense and I like it.

Landeskog on the top line fresh out of junior hockey? That's iffy at best I think.
