I mention Penner because Ottawa doesn't have a guy and hasn't had a guy like that as far as I can remember. I want a power-forward on this team.

Give me a Rick Nash, Dustin Brown, Dustin Penner, Burrows, Ryan Smyth, Cole (in his prime), Morrow, Iginla, etc.

I'm not sure about a Norris, but I think he'll be a 60-70 point guy for the next 15+ years.

Yeah Sens need to sign, trade, draft for a power forward badly.

Another reason why I hope they don't try and land Semin.

We need young forwards with elite offensive talent period. If we end up getting Landeskog, then awesome. But RNH would be just as awesome, if not more so, because of his potential to be the focal point of a line or even an offence.

Those are numbers he could hit, but that kind of consistency is a bit insane to imagine. That'd make him a 1000 point defenceman.

Byfuglien is on pace for 80, if he can do I don't see why E can't in a few years.

Buff still thinks and plays like a forward though... did you see his goal last night... he was behind the goal line.

I'm not questioning whether EK has the potential to put up 60-70 points in a season. But to do it 15 seasons in a row, starting at age 21, would be otherworldly. He'd be a 1000 point defender by age 36. It took Alfie until 37 to hit 1000 points and Lidstrom didn't hit that mark until 39, playing on some stacked teams and playing maybe the least physically demanding style of game possible for a superstar.

If EK ends up with 500+ points in the NHL we should be extremely happy. That's the equivalent of 10 50 point seasons and it'd put him first all-time in Sens D scoring.

Yeah, I did the math as I was writing that and thought it didn't really sound 'conservative'. Although, I swear, Karlsson will punishing the East for many moons.

I think he could have a career year and hit 70ish.

But to do it that consistently I doubt it. It would depend on a lot of factors including his health, the state of the Sens etc.

Not to mention I expect more and more teams will focus their efforts to contain him as his name gets around the league and becomes more known as a threat.

Let's face it if you play the Sens right now you only need to worry about Alfie, Spezza, Gonchar and EK. Contain that and the rest of the team is a joke except maybe for RKN.

Speaking of EKs career point potential, any Bergfors updates?

It'll be tough for other teams as early as (possibly) next year with Karlsson, Rundblad and Cowen -- whom do you contain?

I wish teams had the same problem with our forwards. BagoverHead

Absolutely, right now Gonchar and EK are the only "threats" on the blueline and right now Gonchar is by far the bigger name, probably why he coughs up the puck a lot because there isn't a Crosby or Malkin on the ice that the opposing team is more worried about.

We need to raise the overall talent level of this team, only a handful of players opposing players need to shut down right now.
