HM to Kovalev, he was brilliant

I can't decide between 19 or 65 for first star but they have the top-2 spots locked down. Spezza and Karlsson played like they're our Kopitar and Doughty tonight. Karlsson's first was easily the best period I've seen him play.

I'll give Kovy third star. A post, 6 shots on goal, back-checking and a number of beautiful passes.

Too many HMs to give out but they go to most of the D, Gonchar, Campoli and Hale were darn good.

3 - Elliott - he was ridiculously awesome once again. I don't know how some of those chances didn't end up behind him.

HM - Kovalev - best game I've seen of him in a long time and for the first time since he's been a Sen I felt like he belonged.

How many 3 star selections is that for Kovalev this month? Geez, you'd think he was playing........consistently.

Yeah, for the first time for me as well, I felt as if Kovalev actually was an Ottawa Senator instead of just a hired gun (shooting blanks). Finally, he feels like he really fits in and is having a good time.

Seriously! it's getting serious with this Kovalev character.

I can't believe that I've given our goaltenders a star for every one of the last 5 games or so. Unbelievable! Who would've thunk it?

The fact that Kovalev is playing with young guys like Regin and to a lesser extent (age-wise) Spezza, is really making him feel and play young as well and he's actually having fun doing it. It's really refreshing to see. Can he earn his 10 million this year alone?

Well he's a lot hungrier for the puck lately than he was at any point last year. That line has the chance to be a real solid trio for us and should take away a ton of pressure off of the Alfredsson line.

My worry is that he's got this extra jump in pursuit of the 1K point mark....and then he might lose interest. Not to take away from his game though, he's been outstanding. I hope he's always in pursuit of 1K points

I thought the exact same thing last night. I truly hope that's not the case.
