No, not yet. The Erixon contract would be for NEXT season, so by the time the contract kicks in, the UFAs would be OFF Calgary's books. Or that's what everyone's trying to figure out - because damn this is huge if they lose him.

Didn't see if this was posted anywhere. Erixon and a 5th traded to the rangers for two 2nds and Roman Horak.

• Adding a healthy Giordano to this team is a massive off-season acquisition.
  
• Thank you, Sweeney!! Dougie Hamilton hype in this city is real. That blue line is a thing of beauty.
  
• The Flames struggled with possession last year, but the Michael Frolik signing will hopefully be a step in the right direction.
  
• Often compared to the Avalanche who took steps backwards after a strong year, the Flames hope to improve on their 2014/15 campaign. Expectations will be substantially higher than last year, but with a more experienced young core and an improved roster they look to be up to the task!
  
• Edmonton still sucks.

That blue line is pretty sweet I admit. The top two lines are trending in the right direction. Still some work to do. I hope for the flames that jurke doesn't try to hurry the rebuild too fast. Trevlig is doing good so far.

There was whooping, cheering, and people dancing in their cubicles at my office here in Calgary when that was announced.

I was concerned that Burke would somehow influence a trade for Kessel, but Treliving is killing it right now.

I don't think there's any indication of rushing the rebuild.
