He wants to be in Ontario for family etc.

I know, he's been talking about that a lot. Since even before the end of last season. I have a coworker who is a close friend of his too.

League minimum for when Pazzy breaks his (insert body part here)? Sarcasm

Come on Sad Not this again.

Seriously, you have to be positive. The negativity and pessimistic attitudes are not healthy.

I realize a lot of it is tongue in cheek, and while I don't entirely agree with the whole PMA thing, if you think negative things, that's usually what you will focus on and all you will get.

Let's try the opposite and say Leclaire will start 63 games for the Sens, and go 31-26-6 (SO/OTL), with a GAA of 1.98 and SV% of 0.913, and record 6 SOs.

Not sure if that's a positive attitude or wishful thinking Dash. Leclaire's made of glass.

The guy to be excited about is Brian Elliott. IF by some miracle Leclaire is prepped and ready and puts up huge numbers, then that's a completely different story. As of this moment though, there is absolutely and positively NO basis for that opinion.

If you want positives, I'll give you these:

1.Brian Elliott is ready, he took his knocks in the last playoffs. Technically he blows Leclaire out of the water, skill-wise Leclaire has a little on Elliott, but the gap is closing by the month.

2.Gonchar adds the punch our backend has been missing for literally years and years and years.

3.This team - when healthy and assembled - is powerful, strong, has character and has some chances to do some amazing things

4.This team will challenge for the NE title.

I'm with you. Very, very tired of the negativism vs. Leclaire. He's made of this, he's made of that; whatever; the guy's had a string of bad luck but he's due for a better year. He sure has the talent and the dedication ... we'll see but they way some people are talking we'd be just as well to waive him right now and be done with him ... HeadBanger

If we could have cleared his salary, we would have - and we would have added a sniper as well. That's reality, he's not worth 4 million right now. We have Elliott, we could have acquired a Biron type backup, but there's zero chance anyone in the league would take a chance on Leclaire.

You can be tired of the negativity until you need to have a nap, doesn't change the fact that he has next to no value and needs to completely re-affirm himself as an NHL caliber goalie.

When it mattered most, i.e. the playoffs, he came through.

I give him the benefit of the doubt that he will have a career year.

Oh Yeah, Biron will win us the cup for sure; so will Elliott. Thanks dude. Maybe you need a nap.

That's fair. I hope he does, I certainly wouldn't count in it, but I sure as heck hope you're right.

Did I say that? I said that if we could have cleared the 4 million dollars, we would have by now. We would have added a cheapish backup to play behind Elliott and we would have added a sniper - like a Brad Boyes for instance.

I don't think Murray would waive Leclaire. It's not like he was a throw in with the Vermette deal (which would then be for a 2nd rnd pick, which while it turned out to be Lehner, at the time there was no way of knowing what it turned out to be).

Leclaire's had his rough periods, and the injuries, a couple being fluke injuries, which he can hardly be faulted for. Bad luck is all.

No, no, not waive, I didn't mean that. I meant that I think Elliott's good enough to be backed up by a vet. and Leclaire could have been traded.

But then, I have to take a step back from time to time and re-affirm my faith in Leclaire, Murray and Clouston (etc.). They know what's right.

I have to agree with Dash. We have to give him more than one year to properly judge him. Murray traded for him because he believes in him. I'm sure the organization wouldn't be so quick to throw in the towel on the guy over one mediocre/bad season. I believe they're planning on him finishing his contract as the number one goalie. In fact, I think if he plays as well as they expect or hope it wouldn't be outlandish to think they offer him an extension - if the price is right of course. Lehner is the future but he's still only 19.

It's not re-affirm as much as affirm; based upon your previous posts ...
