negotiation isn't progressing. He wants to play at least 4 more years
and wants to play in 2014 Olympics. Pitt wants 2 year deal.

It's in Russia and that's a ton of motivation.

If The Sens could get Gonchar locked up for 4 years at a cap hit of under 5 mil, you do it, the reward outweighs the risk in a big way.

On a 5 year contract, that's 1 million dollar, not a lot but it could be the difference for a player.
