Mind you, if we could trade Lee or Campoli and get a 2nd back..then I'd be happy. In fact, look for both to be moved in the summer IMO.

I can't take any more of these deadlines full of "depth moves". Either don't do anything and keep your draft picks (the draft is this team's bread and butter) or make a trade for someone who will come in and actually make a difference.

In case you hadn't noticed Murray we need a PUCK MOVING DEFENCEMAN, not a redundant player with 10 Diddling points. I don't give a Dung about depth. Giving up goals isn't our biggest priority, not by a long shot.

"Depth" is THE word around Ottawa. That's why we re-signed the Del-ler. Let's all cross our fingers and hope he's the 2nd line LW we need so desperately.

After the deadline don't roster size limits get removed and they just need to fit under the cap? If so it would make sense to have those 8 up with the big club heading into the playoffs right?

So we gave up a 2nd for a bench warmer? Do I have this straight? Either way, Sutton plays and someone sits, or Sutton sits.

I didn't know a 2nd was the going rate for redundancy.

Coaching? Dave Cameron left Bingo after 06-07 season, maybe they miss him? Ottawa has also taken away a few of Bingo's players for their own team.

And yeah, we do have a lot of NCAA prospects. Can't blame them for not wanting to give up a free education.

I cant believe people are going mental over a 2nd rounder. This is the first time Murray has traded away one of his own picks in the first 3 rounds and people are crapping on him?

Murray has totally restocked the farm system and built defensive depth with both youth and expierence, toughness and finess when people were crying for that exact thing.

Jesus, Murray has drafted so well he can afford to part with a couple picks for ONE YEAR. If he resigns Cullen or Sutton (maybe both) then this is not only a great deal, it's one that makes The Sens better and deeper. There isnt a situation Ottawa isnt prepared for right now going into the playoffs.

Bingo has hardly any Murray draft picks, that's a huge issue. Once guys like Wiercoich, Cowen, Peterson, Grant, Blood, so on and on come in, you will see Bingo turn it around. Murray has had to go out and sign career AHLers and 2nd rate prospects to ice a competitive team... again, building depth trickles down to The AHL eventually and moves like Cullen and Sutton if resigned will show sometime down the line.

Well, the reason he didn't trade picks last year was because we sucked, and the reason he is trading picks now is because we're better.
Obviously he thinks we are contenders, and I believe too. I just odn't think Sutton is gonna make any difference when your roster already has 2 very similar players.

And history suggests they will resign here why? Every pending UFA Murray has brought in, has walked. That's why I don't like it. He's redundant. This could very end up being yet another situation where we give up an asset for almost nothing.

If we get 4-5 home games in the playoffs it's worth it from Melnyk's perspective. People forget this a business.
