Well we're slipping off the podium in aerials. For a few moments we were 1-2 but now just Steve Omischl remains in 3rd. Doubt he'll stay there. Yep, as I type this he slips off.

However Kyle Nissen was first after the first jump, so he still has a chance.

Men's Aerials, that's what Shouldice and Nissen compete in.

I think he should have tried a higher difficulty of jump. Not sure had he landed it clean it would have been gold anyways

Joannie Rochette wins a bronze!!! Unbelievable competition from a woman who's mom died 48 hours before her event.

Kim Yu-Na, who's coached by Brian Orser, wins the Gold after laying down a world record setting free skate.

I'm going to be a little sad when these games are over. How many big sleeps until London? The Official GMHockey 2010 Winter Olympics Thread - All Talk Here! - Page 35 270956

Not landing his jumps is what cost him. I think he had a big enough lead to do try an easier jump and land it solid. That's what the gold-winner did.

I missed the actual skate Sad I saw Yu-Na in warm ups and the way she was going there was no way Rochette will catch her from that far back (7-8 points?). That girl was on fire. Given the circumstances, a bronze is like gold.

Hey, we're just 2 back of Norway again. More importantly, we're 4 up on Russia.

The IOC is going to investigate the incident.

Most definitely. Just skating in Vancouver is an incredible show of courage from Rochette.

Yu-Na basically eliminated the Gold from the competition after her skate. It was like the Ice Dance where the top two pairs were so far ahead that it would have been practically impossible to catch them.

Doesn't it tick you off that so many Canadians are coaching other countries' athletes to the podium?

A little bit. But coaching is a job, and just like any other job you'll follow the money. I'm not gonna hold these coaches up to a higher standard.

Dang, Norway got a gold so their 6-6-6 is gone, and we're three behind again. Enough, already! Too many damned nordic ski events. There's better stuff to do in the winter than ski cross-country. Let's get ice fishing in as a sport. Or how about a polar bear swim?
