They were just saying that because of the ice conditions now, most of the last group of skaters have no chance to touch the top time.

Too bad no one told Wotherspoon...

So much for that thought

It'll be tough, but he'll be skating the inside lane which should produce a faster second race.

Roman Wick (a sens prospect) has had a pretty good game for the swiss today

got the only goal on the pp

Swiss played a good game. They pass very well, don't make mistakes, skate quickly and have good chemistry and goal-tending.

The issue right now is they don't have many finishers up front. That's where Nino hopefully comes in in 2014.

The US started strong then got lazy and they started to make some bad mistakes. Pull that against an upper-echelon team and it's 8-3 against.

The Swiss have no one to put the puck in the net, I was frustrated watching them. Kept it close though.

Hnat Domenichelli is no Paul DiPietro.

Is he still a Sens prospect? Says he was drafted in 2004, and he's not in the AHL and I don't think he's under contract, so they probably lost his rights.

I tried to find out... most sources say he's still a Sens "prospect". But I thought when you were drafted, you had so many years (maybe 2-3?) to get under contract before you became a free agent? He may have signed, but I have not seen anything yet. Said he had a try-out with the Senators in 2007.

YEAH! First event I actually watched, and it was pretty amazing. I was really into it, hoping she'd make it through and finish. Seeing all those other boarders falling at the same spot made it nerve wracking.

She was the favorite to win the event. She's from Cypress, she's been leading the world cup standings all year, and it's her home course. She better have won gold.

This is the attitude that Canadians and their athletes need to have though, instead of the "aww shucks, I tried hard" of the past.

Having said that, anything can happen in a single race format.

CONGRATS TO MAELLE RICKER!
