Haha love the whining on the Habs forum on HF. They actually think they are the first team to not get a PP in a game this season...
Canadiens should rhyme with ignorance.

The head of officiating in the NHL comes out last week with a statement seeing there is no conspiracy against the Senators...maybe he'd like to make a statement explaining the reasoning behind calling back that goal.

What the Diddle is next? Waiving goals off because our players are shooting too hard? Skating too fast? Passing too well?

What a farce this league is. Officiating needs to be overhauled...cause it's a sad sack of Dung right now and it seems to only be getting worse.

Apart from that, nice to the see the guys pick up another win without el-Capitan.

Need to put a few together here and start pulling away a bit from the rest of the pack.

WOW. Just WOW. On a couple levels. First wow to the team for coming back and winning this one despite the blown call waiving off that goal. The other wow is the reaction to the refs tonight. The reffing was poor but to suggest we got jobbed by the refs is pure lunacy. The Sens didn't take a single penalty all game and from where I was sitting I saw plenty that could have been called. Sure that goal being waived off was horrendous but seriously no way did we get screwed over by the refs last night.

I know he is older but, he can run a power play better than anyone, leadership is without question and he would be great with/for Karlsson.

phillips volchenkov
kuba carkner
karlsson schneider

if it means lee or picard gone so be it.

Schneider is being scratched in VAN for powerhouse defenders like Shane O'Brien. 2 years ago, I would have been all over Schneider, but not now. He's lost 1 step or 12. And certainly not for Picard, who is currently (for better or worse) our best offensive D.

I'll never understand this Picard hate. He's the only D on our team who knows how to get a shot through to the net. If anything, I want him (and not Kuba) on the 1st PP unit.

To be fair, Volchie and Phillips are both only 1 goal behind Picard and they don't see a tonne of PP time do they? Now I want to go cry I think. Our D is anemic offensively.

Who would have guessed that this would be the game we get out shot in for the first time in a while?

Or perhaps 50 minutes?

I'd also like to say that I love watching the Sens win in come from behind fashion against the Habs or Leafs. I just love it. It makes the victory all the more sweet when the opposing team fans truly believe they're going to win only to see it slowly and painfully slip away and not even get 1 point out of it. Fantastic.

Ole!

Picard blows. I've said for a long time that the only thing holding Ottawa back is a true #1 puck moving defenseman. It might be on the way with Karlsson... but not for another few years. Kuba is not good enough to be THE guy.

What we need is a threat on the point. I think the puck movement is decent now personally. Sure an elite Puck moving D man would be nice but if he doesn't have a seriously good point shot then no thanks.

Actually if not for Leclaire and some luck this one would have been ugly. 2-0 was actually encouraging. I love when that happens and we come out the the regulation win against a team like the Habs or Leafs at home. It makes the defeat all the more bitter for them and all the more sweet for us Sens fans.

So, is Gainey gonna send a letter to Gary now? Not a single power play for the Habs last night.

This was one of the most entertaining games that I have seen in recent memory. Nice to see our depth hold down the fort. What's the record without Spezza in the line-up sitting at?

Don't know. Without Alfie this season we're 2-0 though.

To be honest, when we got that PP with Fisher being tripped, I started my post with "Another powerplay ..." and was about to type "... and why the hell is Kuba still out there?" but they scored while I was typing.

Our PP is still not close to being good -- even if we did score two PPGs. Not enough movement on the back-end, the passing is nowhere near crisp-enough, and too much holding on to the puck that chews up valuable seconds. It's one thing to have a player like Kovalev hanging on to the puck, slowing the game down, but we have too many people with half his skill doing the same.
