I searched "Lost Blu-ray" on the search box and they gave me like 3 or 4 results. One of them was the one I bought, with no picture of the boxset. So if you're looking for a specific title, you have to check if amazon gives you more than 1 result on a search.
Fifth element is like 10 bucks everywhere isn't it?

Hmm, I still don't see anything new for $50 but it doesn't really matter. Like I said, I'm OK waiting for when the full series box set comes out (I'm not letting my oldest see it until he's at least 14, which will be this coming summer).

As for The Fifth Element, the lowest I'd seen is $15 at several US retailers. The best price over here is $23 in a couple of places (and that was marked down from $28). The movie is 12 years old -- ridiculous IMO. I keep checking periodically, I'll get it eventually for $10, probably.

It's not there anymore, I guess the store only had 1 copy New PS3 Owners Thread - Page 5 270956 .

I recommend waiting for the movies' prices to drop as well, I only buy movies that are on sale, not shopping specifically for one.

I especially liked the $3 shipping. On a box-set, no less. Amazon.com charges $8 -- that's extortion. Amazon.ca charges $5 for a single item (the box-set would qualify for free shipping, though).

Honestly i just scour future shop.. They always have the lowest prices usually, then i go to best buy and they price match and give you an extra 10% off.. I got Dark Knight for $9.99 yesterday, Office Space for $13.99 and Natural Born Killers also for $13.99 all on Blu Ray...

Before Christmas I bought The Hangover for around 20 bucks and Coraline for $22 I think.. They were both cheaper on Blu Ray than on DVD..

It really annoys me when I plug or unplug the controller and it resets it to Controller 1 or 7. Is there a way to avoid that behaviour?

Well that's great, but when I got there Dark Knight was all gone, and now it's gone on-line as well (or it was last time I checked). So I was back to Amazon.ca, except free shipping only kicks in if I spend another 29.01, but I refuse to pay $18 for The Fifth Element -- it's 12 years old and I have the Ultimate edition (which contains the superbit version of the film -- the BD will not be noticeably better). Same for a couple other movies I wouldn't mind upgrading on BD. They are too old to be charging that much.

Did you get it at one of those $30 off sales?

Did you check, sometimes they give you 10$ mail refund if you already got the dvd copy of a movie.

I plunked down $599 for a PS3 way back and I've had a lot of fun with it since. I haven't bought Blu-Rays in a long time as I just can't justify the high price anymore. I really wanted Dark Knight though... shame I missed it.

Really wish there were more "wife-friendly" games on it, I had to stay up and play Uncharted when she was asleep ....

We do play Rock Band 2 together quite a bit though. That's a lot of fun.

I've found the PS3 to be an family unfriendly system. The Xtortion360 as well.

I've got a Wii (had it first, everyone loved it), then bought a PS3 (my sons have dropped the Wii like 3rd period French since), and a 360 (If this system didn't have a few original titles, it wouldn't have anything to offer humanity).

My daughter loves the Wii, so she dominates that, the boys play the PS3, and the 360 gets a sniff occasionally. I am thankful they don't play the 360 more often or else they'd be asking me to pay to play online. In addition to having to pay for online (the others offer it free!), I'd have to shell out for a wireless adapter. Brutal. MS are nothing but a bunch of sumbags.

Wii has been a huge disappointment in my household -- mind you I don't have kids (yet). I got my wife Animal Crossing and she loves it -- first time the system has been getting serious use, it collected dust for well over a year.

We will be getting Heavy Rain for PS3 next month, that's the kind of games we both like. An interactive movie/crime thriller ... good stuff.

You'll probably find that your Wii and PS3 will collect dust once you have kids, until they're a bit older of course.

A good way to buy blu-rays is when they go on PV at Blockbuster and Rogers.

XBOX > PS for gaming, IMO. Better selection of games, larger online community. Only downside is the charge for all the things that PS offers for free (wireless and online).

I got a good deal on a Gold membership - $60 for 12 months + chatpad + PGR4 - then traded in PGR4. http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10113686&catid=23562 - I got it on sale though.

There are other good deals out there too - can get a XBOX controller + 2 games http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10123909&catid=23558

PS3 is great for Blu-ray and PS exclusive games (God of War). Also use it for watching AVI movies downloaded from icefilms. just load them on my external drive and voila.

Heavy Rain eh? Sounds good. I've finished the Uncharted games and I'm quickly growing tired of the boobs and curb stomping Nazis and old ladies in The Saboteur. I need some new fun.
