Yeah, McKenzie sad Cowen would likely be in the top 6 defence, and that the battle for 7th would be tight.

Looking at the player profiles for the other defensemen, Cowen looks like he's from another planet at 6'5" 220+ lbs.

Cowen made it. Final cuts were: Philippe Cornet, Cody Eakin, Scott Glennie and Louis Leblanc,
defencemen Tyler Cuma, Shawn Lalonde and Dylan Olsen and goaltenders
Matt Hackett and Olivier Roy.

Could come down to equally representing all 3 leagues? Though you'd think the main priority would be to assemble the best team no matter where the players come from.

No guarantee Wiericioch would have made it.

At least we get to see one future (hopefully) Senator playing. And I hope he is their #1 guy when they win gold.

As an NCAA player I would say he's pretty well guaranteed not to make it. Just as well he got injured.

The experience would have been good, plus the exposure. Not too many people know of him, outside the Sens circles that is.

If he had impressed enough in camp I don't think they would have cared where he plays. Hockey Canada invites very few people from NCAA, but when you get invited, you get as many chances as anyone else.

Lehner will be the third string for Sweden I read. Not sure how accurate that is.

Also Sounded like guys from the CHL have been left out on purpose...

Patrice Cormier named Captain. Would have been nice if it was Cowen :D
