Fair enough, but where would the Sabres be with LaLeak between the pipes? Also, I'd say the Avs defence is better than you are giving them credit for.

Ryan Miller. Stats wise, he's the cat's Donkey.

I don't think he can eat all that, and he knows it.

Quincey is the best deal in the league, but that defense and their overall team defense isnt great. They are giving up like 35 plus shots a game... I dont think people truly understand how well Anderson is playing right now.

Comparisson, Hasek in 96, 97, 98, 99. That's how well he is playing.

Over 13 games though. Let's talk after 82. Like I said, I just can't see him keeping it at this level.

He's a good goaltender but even Hasek didnt play 82 games, they neeed to get someone else in there to give the guy a break.

Oh for sure, I meant 82 games as in after the season. This being his first full year as a starter, it remains to be seen how much Anderson will play, particularly if he's made the US team in Vancouver. I think 65 games would be a very good year for him in year one as a starter.

Look, I've seen him play a few games and I've been watching the stats, and it's all been impressive, for sure. But I've been playing fantasy hockey long enough to know this stuff won't last. Anderson is a former backup / first-time starter on a team playing way over its head. Mark my words: this is a party that just won't last.

Anyone remember when Miller went down 3-4 years ago and Biron won some 13 straight games, with great numbers? Yeah, I sold Biron towards the end of that run -- for a struggling Turco or Nabokov, can't remember which -- looked dumb for 2 weeks, and then a genius for the next 6 months. When it comes to hockey pools, trust history over feelings. That's why I've never draft Gaborik, for instance, EVER.

Not playing over his head dude. When he started playing last year in Florida they were a top 5 team in the league. He's been for real for a long time.

It's not liek he's getting 20 shots a night and getting it done either, he gets peppered night in and night out. He isnt a first time starter because he grabbed that job from Vokoun last year and was the true started in Florida. Now he just has the title.

Anderson is 100% the real deal and people need to start giving that guy respect. He has developed in The NHL over a long period now, paying his dues, learning the craft, so on... Colorado isnt that good of a team, Anderson is though.

Read it again, dude. I said the TEAM is playing over its head, not Anderson. Although I don't think Anderson will be able to keep this up, either -- in fact, I don't think any goalie in the league can do that.

Well, the Avs have played 21 games and are still going strong... 13-5-3 and 2nd in the Western Conf behind San Jose.

After having Budaj as their starter, Anderson has proved to be their lightning rod. Cudos to him, and this team. They deserve some recognition for yanking themselves out of mediocrity.

It also doesn't hurt having a top 3 pick. Seems that a lot of teams that draft in the top three start a turnaround based on the young injection of talent that can add to the lineup right away. NY is way better this year. Tampa is way better.

If you ride the wave backwards the teams with first overall picks look like the league's who's who of up-and-comers...

Chicago, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Washinton.

Having super high picks helps the team turn around fast. Not to mention that high pick means higher picks in the latter rounds improving overall depth.

Colorado got Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly this year who are two pretty solid players with great futures.

Looks like Ryan O'Reilly is going to be very good. What a great grab by them.

Stastny hasn't even woken up yet. They're probably talking to Chicago as we speak. Might grab a big D soon to solidify the roster.

Still make that trade, SD? Smile

COL: 3-5-2 in their last 10.

Anderson: 3-5-2, 3.60 GAA, 0.873 SV% in his last 10.

Anderson and Wolski owners, you missed the boat if you didn't take my advice earlier! In annual leagues, you always sell early on unproven commodities if it means securing proven guys.

Just for reference:

SJ: 6-2-2 in their last 10.

Nabokov: 6-1-3, 1 SO, 2.30 GAA, 0.925 SV%, in his last 10.
