By the way, was Picard already on the bus to Bingo in the 3rd or was he on the bench.

Way to take over a game, refs.
What are you referring to ?

Phillips shot the puck over the glass, too many men, and then the Carkner takedown. They were all obvious calls.

They were obvious calls but I was p****d that they didn't call that pick on the Preds PP. That was a pretty blatant penalty right there.

Those picks aren't called very often.

We played like crap, gave up 3PP goals I think, made stupid mistakes all night, yet still got as many points tonight as leaves have gotten all year.

If SSF is around, I thought I'd let you know Fisher now has 7 points in 8 games and both his goals are GWs. Just saying...

On a side note, Dany Heatley was -3 in just over 17 minutes tonight, with 1:13 of PP time (as opposed to Marleau's 3:45). I wonder if he needs a bigger role. Loser.

How invisible was cheechoo? On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being Dr. Invisible. You can't say 11.
Good comeback by Ottawa, Spezza looked good, Leclaire not so much. Great effort in the third. That is something Ottawa has lacked during their 18 month slump. I see good things brewing.

Fair enough, but if they were going to call everything, they should have caught the pick.

Refs tend to give teams a little more breathing room as the game grows in intensity. These two were over-reffing IMO.

My statement comes more as a reaction to losing than anything impartial, though.

We maybe didn't deserve to win, but the Preds didn't either.

On another note, I'll take injured Spezza every day of the week.

I only caught the third period, but he was amazing.

If you call carkner, you have to call that pick.
Carkner was horrible though and was a minus 4.
Fisher also had a good game.

The good.

Leclaire. Let in 6 but none were on him. He is the only reason that game wasnt a total blow out.

Spezza, AMAZING. Even in the 1st he was making defensive plays and really competing. Tried to do a little too much at times but in the 3rd he took over. Great game.

Phillips and A Train. Dominate again.

Regin. Looked good his first game back.

Campoli. Best game yet, something to build on.

The Bad.

Picard. Perhaps the single worst game I have ever seen from a defenseman, ever. He was that bad. He single handedly cost his team 3 goals. A little bad luck but he was aweful. He didnt see the ice in the 3rd. Hopefully he can bounce back but WOW.

Shannon. Why did Donovan come out? Shannon is useless and was taken off that top PP unit for Karlsson by the end of the game. He's been garbage all year and he didnt do anything to change that tonight.

Cheechoo. Uhhh, he played? Awful.

Carkner. Doesnt help that his partner was the worst player in the NHL tonight and perhaps the AHL, but he has to be better.

Too bad Carkners +/- is a direct result of Picard costing his team 3 goals in the 1st. He didnt play well but using that stat against him is pointless.

Refs had nothing to do with The Sens losing that game. The only people on the ice that should be blammed are The Sens (not Leciare).

Seriously though, Shannon was useless tonight and Cheechoo was invisable. I have a little easier time giving Cheechoo the benifit of the doubt because he has played fairly well up until tonight but Shannon... really? He should be no where near that PP. The best the PP has looked all year when Karlsson is manning the point.

That was a crazy game. I can't believe the Sens pulled out a point. Picard was unbelievable, in the worst possible way. Fisher was great, Michalek looked good.

The one thing that I really noticed about Leclaire, and I've mentioned it before, is his lack of rebound control. He commits heavily to one side, then lets massive rebounds go to the open side of the net. He's been lucky with it so far, but he definitely needs to address it.

Wow, what a crazy game.

Cheech was invisible because he was on the ice for less than 3 minutes a period. I think he ended up with around 8 minutes on the game.

Cheechoo was pretty much benched this game, definately was in the 3rd. I only started watching halfway through but I never saw him on the ice.

Missed Spezza in my recap. Ya, he was ridiculous tonight. Fantastic game from him. Who cares if he doesn't score? His game has improved dramatically.

Yeah, I thought Karlsson looked a lot more comfortable on the PP tonight (I only saw the third period) than he has since the pre-season.
