We were missing a center, so that's why he moved Fisher back. But Foligno played center in junior, so the other option would have been to keep Fisher on wing and let Foligno center the 3rd line. By the way, can Shannon play wing? Maybe he wouldn't be getting concussed so much if he didn't carry the puck across the middle so much.

He can play a most awesome wing yes, however, in his first game playing wing last year, some idiot on the Islanders knocked his block off.

Hmmm... are they refering to the fact that the monster got pwned? or the fact that he pwned the Sens?

I would consider getting deked that bad by Alfie getting pwned myself...

Only in Toronto... Well maybe Montreal too.. LOL

Yeah, I remember you saying that. That sucks, how can they block this site from work? How do they even know about it? :^^^^:

If I was blocked from work, I'd look for another job. No joke.

I know that, it's just an observation not judgement.

It's a valid one. Although, I started to see the real Kovalev when he was paired with Fisher. I'm pretty sure the other part of that line was Michalek and they were starting to jump.

Kelly. Kovalev-Fish-Kelly.

They should try Cheechoo with Kovalev. AK27 needs a finisher on his line IMO, that's assuming Cheech gets at least some of his Rocket Richard form back.

Won't happen, but it'd be fun if we could get him back to 30+ goal territory. He seems to be slowly playing better and skating faster.

For sure. Clouston's one of those guys who knows more than he should at his age as a coach. He played Cheechoo 10 minutes against the Rangers and now he's slowly but surely upping his ice time - last night was 13. I would expect the next game to be 14 or 15 with some PP time and hopefully Cheechoo can net a couple of goals and 100% get his confidence back. I also can't really say anything about Cheechoo not scoring because Kovalev, Michalek, Spezza etc. etc. etc. haven't scored yet either - and if they're not scoring yet, Cheechoo needs a mulligan.

For sure, and considering linemates, ice time etc. I'm not down on Cheechoo at this point. I still think his injuries are a big deal though, I'm hoping he learns to maximize his effectiveness in spite of his knee and hernia surgeries.

I don't know if you can really say this after two games ...

Just reviewed some of the highlights in slo-mo and frame-by-frame.

That goal by Donovan was a lucky call -- a very lucky call. With the angle of the camera, if the puck is exactly at the level of the cross bar, then it will actually appear to be below it. So, in one frame the puck is clearly above the cross bar, moving very slowly downward (it would take another 3 or more frames for it to fall below the cross bar) and in the next the puck is completely obscured by two high sticks -- Donovan's and whoever was the Sen standing at the side or slightly behind the goal. Both sticks are swinging down, moving much faster than the puck. Two frames later you still don't see the puck but the sticks are clearly below the bar. I don't see any way that either of the sticks could have missed the puck while it was still above the cross bar and still get it. I may not be explaining myself clearly, but in my opinion that was a bad goal. Still, we've had our share of good goals called back, so I'll take this one.

On that double-ringer by Komisarek, Stajan was not lifting his stick in celebration. Picard was behind him and was lifting his stick. He was trying to get it down but coudl not do it in time to get the rebound. Plus the puck was up in the air, he may have missed it anyway.

On the Volchenkov hit, Regin was barely involved. It's beginning to sound very much like he was benched by Clouston. Very surprising.

Lastly, what a save by Leclaire on Kaberle in the dying seconds. What the hell was Kelly doing? He lunged for the puck that was laying there after the faceoff scramble, and left Kaberle completely wide-open. Good for us that Leclaire kept his head and went right out to challenge the shooter before the puck even got to him.

good game by the Sens, wish they would have scored more, but well, things are quite clicking yet that way, Michalek looks ready to break out any minute, Cheechoo had a pretty decent game too, not sure where TSN figured Kovalev was invisible in the game though, he had many nice setups, including one to the Fish, he just chose not to shoot it.
