Our goaltending is no more or less stable then the majority of teams. Should our starting goalie get hurt, we would be in trouble, but we have an excellent backup.

Our goaltending is stable. The concern is the Low IQ, cement heads playing for the leafs. I don't care if I am Vancouver or Jersey, I worry about some idiot wearing a leaf on his steroid inflated chest taking cheap shots at my goalie.

AND we have a fantastical prospect in Lehner that we could take away from the Soo. We'd have to sign him first though. He's one of the best goaltending prospects out there.

And we won't worry about it either, except for games against the truculent ones.

What was your point ?

I am saying, I don't worry about Leclaire's health, I worry about the leafs intentionally trying to run/injure him. Normal goalmouth contact is fine, I just don't trust the morons in Blue and White.

The only concern I've seen from Sens fans here is from any intentional harm being done by the "goons" from the Leafs, or any other team for that matter. If BM was concerned that LeClaire would be injured simply by getting touched... he would never have traded for him. Boogard plowed LeClaire in a *preseason* game that resulted in his most recent injury that ended up needing surgery. Based on what we've seen from LeClaire so far and Elliott last year... we're in a very good position.

If any team gets their #1 goalie injured by the other team running them over... there's always a cause for concern.

I think you're mis-understanding our concern. Concerned about getting taken out? Yes. Concerned about regular, normal in-game contact. No.

Stable, probably. Invincible, no. If our number one goalie gets hurt that sucks.

I worry a bit more than I would with a goalie who's never had injuries. Hasek lingers in my mind. But when you say "most teams" you are admitting that there are other teams out there who have to think the same way and that includes Toronto with Toskala's surgery last year... I think that's why Toronto was brought up man.

Having both stable goaltending and goalies capable of getting injured is not incongruous.

Instead of making comments about blinders and how other people should take notes on how realistic you are, how about pointing out why you think Ottawa's goaltending is so bad.

Is it because in his last full season, Leclaire only had 9 shut-outs? Is it because he doesn't have a good pedigree in only being an 8th over-all pick? Is it because of the 8 games Brian Elliott struggled in at the beginning of his AHL career, despite dominating at all other times and basically all other levels? Is it because Robin Lehner's nickname "Real Estate" isn't as cool as "The Monster"?

Or is it because of one game where the skaters in front of Leclaire played absolutely horrendously?

No one is suggested an Ottawa goalie is going to walk away this year with a William M. Jennings award or a Vezina trophy this year, but it takes severe bias not to agree that the goaltending position is as stable as it has been since 2005-2006 and is the least of our concerns at the moment.

How is it not stable? It's a calculated risk grabbing Leclaire and Elliott has shown he is an NHL goaltender who has the tallent to be a starter one day.

So basically a true number 1 and a rock solid backup... ya, it's just like having Gerber and Auld.

Ya, you have no point and no prespective. Look down The East and Ottawa's duo is in the top 6 or 7

Lundivst is a starter and backup by himself
Flurry is solid and Johnson is a good team guy and bacup.
Montreal's is at the top with Price and Halak
Ward is about as good as they come but no real back up
Thomas and Rask are really solid
Vokoun is inconsistant and Cleminsson is a career AHLer basically
Emery and Bouchier are decent

everyone else isnt even worth talking about.

Ottawa's goaltending is solid, period.
