One report saying that is 100% "going to happen this weekend":

Meanwhile, Dobber is reporting this as a done deal:

"The Flyers have released Randy Jones. If he clears waivers, he will
play in the AHL this year. I doubt the Flyers would risk paying half
his salary via re-entry waivers, so he's gone if no team claims him.
For the season."

If I'm one of the four Blue Jackets fans out there, I'd be desperately hoping that Scott Howson puts a flyer in on this guy. Jones would instantly become their top PP QB man.

Wow. Waiving a $2.75M contract... I guess they're praying someone will pick him up instead of having to bury him in the minors.

Are they that tight against the cap?

I see they are just over $300K below it. That's tight.
