thanks. I pvr'd it and saw the highlights, but I have a hard time believing I'll be commiting 2 hours to watching a pre-season loss after-the-fact... Jsut looking for a little more insight into things than what was in the highlights and what was commented on in this thread.

well, I'm watching it right now (wasn't home). it's actually 1 hour (no commercials and no intermission). Watching Karlsson play is total delight. I can't believe this kid is not in the top 25 of HF's Fall rankings. For me he is top 5.

That was all Tim Thomas last night. Both goalies played excellent.

Game coverage:
- TV: TSN2 (HD),NHLN-US (HD)
- Radio: Team 1200 (need to confirm)
- Web: http://www.atdhe.net/

Quick point of clarification: atdhe.net -- reliable source with a good track record who is almost for-sure to air the game, or iffy source with a spotty record who might, maybe, perhaps air the game?

Cheers!

I'll be at the game tonight, so I won't have to deal with horrible Internet feeds or crapy Rogers 22 coverage. Can't wait to see Regin and Karlsson in live action!
Why aren't any of you guys watching it on TSN2?

Is Rogers carrying TSN2 now? Free?
They are carrying it, but it's not free.

I got it free with my Super Sports Pak.

Really? The $30 a month thing that gets you NHL CI + a bunch of other crap (like football, basketball, and minor league hockey)?

Please, please, please!

I haven't ordered the Sports Pack yet -- that's next week -- but if TSN2 is part of the deal, I might as well order it now...

UPDDATE: TSN2 is *not* part of the Sports Pack. You need the VIP package -- which is $42.

Somewhere, baby Jesus is crying.

Was at the game last night, and yes I agree, Karlsson is a total delight to watch. It was nice to see him out on the ice in the last minute of the game, trying to tie it up.

Regin had a good game. He didn't stand out that much but I did see him stand up to Chara along the boards, and he stayed on his feet AND kept the puck! Impressive!

Shannon had a great game. He was all over the place, playing well at both ends.

Carkner looked great. He's really steady back there and most importantly, he's not a liability in our own end.

Neil was another player who, I thought, stood out and had a great game.

Leclaire was probably Ottawas best player. He had a great solid game. No weak goals, and made some great saves. Looks great and really comfortable out there. It's quite refreshing to see a confident goalie in the Ottawa net.

Yeah, it's not part of the Super SportsPak. They get ya every time. If you have HD and have TSN and get the HD Theme Pack, then you get TSN2HD thrown in.

I'm with Bell and I pay nothing extra for TSN2. Baby Jesus cries for all Rogers customers.

Ah, there's a hyphen in On-Demand. That's probably why I couldn't find it.

Not too much IMO, we looked good, still need some time to gel it seems. There were chances missed, Boston with two goals tipped in. Leclaire looks great and so did Thomas.

I agree. I was much happier with my cable bill AND selection as a Bell customer. If my condo unit allowed for dishes, I would be back in an instant.

And this in spite of the fact that I think all big companies are money whores.

I've been hesitant to say this for a while now -- because it's such high praise -- but I see a lot of young Daniel Alfredsson in Ryan Shannon's game. He's not as effective as Alfie offensively, obviously, but he's a sparkplug, he's all over the ice and is effective in a variety of roles, and he's one of the smarter players I've seen in a long time. The size thing is an issue for sure, but I really think the world of this kid.

He needs to bust 'em up this year. If Shannon can put up 50 or so points this season -- high expectations, I know, but I think they're realistic given his play last year, his work ethic, his place in CC's books -- this is a guy we have to lock up next year.

Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best from this guy this season. I'm thinking he's going to turn heads -- not so much around here, because we know what he brings generally, but in terms of wider league recognition and respect.

My thanks, again, to Nonis and Nycholat. GAME DAY: Preseason - Boston @ Ottawa - 7:00pm ET - Fri. Sep. 25th, 2009--PLUS afterthoughts... - Page 11 Icon_cool
