No. We were told to blow up ourselves. Remember?

Man, the Panthers really got a gem in Kulikov.

Somebody mentioned a few weeks back (I think it was SpezD) that Montreal will likely have a tough first half before they develop some chemistry with all the new players that have been brought in.

Well, the sens aren't that much different from the habs in that regard. Not quite as many changes but just the fact that Spezza is finally not with that other guy is a big change for him. It's going to take a while. Vokoun has always had our number as well.

I agree with the previous posters though. Make as many cuts as possible, as quickly as possible. I'll reserve comment on anyone for at least another 10 games. If things still look the same as they did tonight, then yeah, I'll start to be a little concerned.

little early to panic, don't really care if they lose all preseason games, at least these early ones. Winchester looked like a man possessed last night during the 3rd, couldn't move that guy off the puck.

Ottawa still has a pretty solid core here. Montreal doesnt. If Ottawa wants to be successful off the bat I think you gotta start Cheechoo on the first liine with Spezza and Alfi. See if he can fill Heatbag's role somewhat.

I agree with you on that one Neely, Cheech with Spezz and Kovy, then Michalek with Fisher on the 2nd line with Alfie on the right wing.

So can you guys officially taper your expectations now? I am pretty sure it was this website and this exact thread where people where predicting a huge win in this game. Try to look at other teams through the same glasses you look at your team through. You guys have no defense...yet and no goalies for awhile. I think it was also this website where someone said that ottawa is now better than san jose. Come on, get a grip.

I think Michalek and Kovalev are tallented enough to develope some chemistry on their own and hopefully can get Fisher going as well at a somewhat consistant rate.

I think you put Cheechoo up there because he needs to play with a lot of tallent. You put him with Alfi and Spezza who already have Chemistry he could very well get off to a hot start and really start to build that confidence he needs to play with from the get go.

We'll see though, that's just my opinion on it. I think the most important thing is getting Cheechoo going and building him up.

We would have won had Kelly been in the line-up.

I do think that Fisher and Michalek could be a nice duo. You definitely want to surround Kovalev with your most talented forwards in order to take advantage of his skills (When he chooses to use them of course).

I wouldn't mind seeing Alfie, Spezza, Kovalev personally but I think one of them would need to learn a new wing right? That would kinda suck if so. Besides which you're providing Spezza with a bit of a crutch again if you do that I suppose. Making Spezza do some of the heavy lifting is probably in order but chemistry will rule on the line combos more than making Spezza grow as a player I think.

Alfi/Spezza/Kovalev would drive each other mental. All of those guys LOVE having the puck on their stick. You gotta stick Kovy with guys who can get dirty, go to the net, and gain posession of the puck in the offensive zone.

On the PP I can see it, but even strength, I think that's an a pretty bad trio in the sense that it probably wont work like some would invision.

You need a snipper/shooter on that top line with Spezza for sure, and as far as I'm concerned that's Cheechoo.

Michalek/Fisher/Kovy would def be the best option for a 2nd line.

Basically, way too much of one thing, on one line. Spread that out.

Next time I would suggest you quote the comment you take issue with because the way you've stated things here give the impression that you think all Sens fans that are members of GMHockey.com need to adjust their expectations and need to get a grip. Just a thought because right now you just come off as inflamatory.

I agree Alfi/Spezza/Kovalev all want the puck. I think Michalek may be the winger for the left side.

Fisher & Kovalev doesn't seem to work well ... at least not last night. I thought Foligno looked good last night but he played better with Z. Smith.
