hey I am allowed to be overly optimistic, we finally have secondary scoring, do you know how monumental this is? Game Day, Pre-Season Edition Sept 16, 09 Florida @ Ottawa - Page 9 668437

I do, I really do. It feels like 03-04 or whenever it was where we had Hossa and an emerging Havlat. Not just the CASH line.

and I believe that year there were a couple of occasions were the sens scored 10 in a game and Heatley/Havlat each scored 4. I believe that was the same year of dominance over the Leafs, games like 8-0, 7-0, 8-2, those were great memories.

Diddling right. Against Buffalo twice I think? Havlat, then Heatbag.

Those were good times eh? Hossa, Havlat, Alfie. Weren't they all the same wing?

Except when the post season arrived... first round bounce by the Leafs.

IMO only - the AHL would be different in that there's not 220 pound guys coming in who also possess awesome skills. Karlsson can outsmart a lot of the big oafs in the AHL. In the NHL? He'll be a fly on a windshield I would imagine.

But then, this is just my opinion, I also think he's got a lot of positioning to iron out in the defensive end. Can Clouston do it? For sure, but he'll have enough on his plate. Let Nutbar work with him for half the year - and if he does as well as we thing, we're adding someone close to Christmas that would usurp pretty much any trade we could make.

I found an article from one of the games, it was even better, Alfie and Havlat each had 4. Heatbag scored the other 2, wonder if he cried about a diminished role that night?

BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Martin Havlat and Daniel Alfredsson both scored four goals Wednesday night as Ottawa routed the Buffalo Sabres, 10-4.
Dany Heatbag scored the other two goals for the Senators (9-2-0).
It was Havlat's first game back after serving a five-game suspension for kicking Boston Bruins defenseman Hall Gill. Jason Spezza contributed four assists, Alfredsson and Peter Schaefer had two assists each and Ray Emery made 33 saves ...

Unfortunately all RWs - kind of like now. :^^^^: But, one thing to remember is the devastating chemistry Havlat and Fisher had. I believe Michalek will be Fisher's Havlat soon.

:^^^^: Maybe...Heater scored four that year as well though. Against Toronto maybe?

Diddling right man. Michalek brings such awesome speed - something that we've been missing for way too long.

220, 210, 200 doesnt make a difference. In fact with less skilled guys for Karlsson to play with it's more likely he will get run more often in the AHL then in the NHL. It might be a tougher game in the NHL but it's also much more ceribral which is going to benifit Karlsson more than anything.

The AHL probably isnt an option at this point. The guy is an Ottawa Senator.

If Clouston keeps him around, then we know he's ready. I'm personally still on the fence though.

I believe he scored 4 straight in the 8-0 whitewashing of the Leafs either that season or the season before, whenever Dominator was our goalie.

Read between the line with what Clouston said last night. He said Karlsson played well but there there is still a lot to work on. What mentally handicapped coach is going to come out in the middle of training camp and tell a 19 year old kid he's more then ready? Hahaha.

When I heard that last night, I was 100% convinced he was in Ottawa.

tight checking games he is no where to be found, that's Heatbag's MO for sure.

So am I. He's still only 19, and is showing all the signs of a team first dedication. Even another year in Sweden couldn't hurt.

I'd still like to see him adjust to the North AMerican game in the AHL though if he doesn't dominate the preseason.

I still remember the game where Ricard Perrson took the double minor. I've never seen a wild bar quiet down so fast.

The place went nuts when Tod White scored that goal after he split the D.

Sorry man.

I was at Gretzky's in Toronto when Chara beat McCabe like a rag doll... the silence in the bar after that bout always brings a smile to my face. Unfortunately, that was the only good moment of the game that night for Sens fans.
