from tsn.ca
The Tampa Bay Lightning have sent forward Evgeny
Artyukin to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Drew Milller and
a third round draft pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Lightning gave their fans a heads-up on the deal by posting a
teaser on the team's Twitter page earlier in the day. At approximately
2:30pm eastern the team sent out the following message on
http://twitter.com/TBLIGHTNING

“TheLightning are making a trade today. They'll be getting a player and a draft pick in return. More to come....”
A Moscow native, the 25-year old Artyukin led the Bolts with 151
penalty minutes last season. He also added six goals and 10 assists in
73 games.

The 25-year old Miller, brother to Sabres' goaltender Ryan, had four
goals and six assists in 27 games with the Ducks last season. He
helped Anaheim capture the Stanley Cup in 2007.

More payroll flexibility...

...for the Bolts that is.

Artyukhin can actually be an effective little big player. In the right situation he can put up 15 goals and 30 assists. Not to mention his 200 PIM's.

I don't think Anaheim will stick him on the 2nd line though. Look what Philly did with Hartnell and Gretzky did with Carcillo (until his act wore thin).

Artyukhin can be a smaller bigger version of them. Not quite as effective as those guys, but close.

The Ducks liked Miller. You never know.

Good trade for the Ducks actually. This guy has his moments - and he'll be able to run rampant in the West.

Are you driving somewhere with that? Anaheim has $4M and that's including carrying 13 forwards and 7 D. They can shave another $800K+ by sending Sbisa or Mikkelson (both on two-ways) to the minors. Still not enough to get in on the Heatley sweepstakes. I tried Bobby Ryan for Heatley to see if that works, not even close. They need to do something with that $6M backup they have.

He's one of those frustrating players that I've always found intriguing. He shows flashes of absolute dominance. I think he's proven already that his potential will never be realized, unfortunately.
