Actually, I stole it from that liar who, in turn, stole it from Larry Brooks (without saying he did, of course).

He did say "more to come" (or something), though.

As Larry Brooks points out in his article, the Isles now have a veteran tandem so DiPietro doesn't have to be rushed...and potentially, a goalie they can trade later if they so decide.

IMHO NYI have succeeded in upgrading themselves re:goaltending.

...if Roloson plays as well as he did last year, and Biron, who will be motivated to show he can get the job done, shows himself at his best.

Funny, funny move. I guess this means Dipietro starts the year on the LTIR...?

I wonder if Biron regrets not taking whatever it was the PHI was offering? Smile

True, Biron is now a handy tradeable asset the Isles have in their back pocket. YOu just know someone's #1 goalie will go down in December or January and come knocking.

Considering the price, seems like a can't-go-wrong kind of move to me.

Looks like Isles fans are getting the feeling DiPietro might retire early.

Man... the Isles have Yashin's buyout counting towards the cap for another 6 seasons... and it ain't small. This season it's $3,235,067. Next season is $4,755,067.

Wow.

Wow.

Yet the Isles still struggle to get to the cap floor! Unreal.

Very, very, very, very odd. I don't know what to say.

The first thing that came to mind is that Dipetro is done, but maybe he's just delayed for a while.

I think there's serious issues with Rick in the long term.

At the very least, you would think this season is in question. As I said, fans are speculating that he may be done for good.

Oh, I didn't know that's what you meant. I thought your were guessing.

So they think he's done? So do I. Not a great scenario for the Isles. Wow...some insurance company just Dung their pants. :^^^^:

It could just as well be an overreaction or jumping to conclusions. Biron is only there for one year, after all.

Yeah, possibly. I don't like the look of this scenario though. If Dipetro was going to be okay, they'd rely on Roloson and use someone as a backup, but when Dipetro comes back, there will be 3 guys on NHL contracts. Not sure if a team will give assets at the deadline for any of them either.

I like the signing though, dirty cheap. Wow, really, Biron couldn't get a better deal?

I guess they view a super cheap Biron as the best option. He'd be very move-able at the deadline that's for sure.
