This is new thread worthy SF71. It's neat - and I like the prospect more every day of Heatley staying and the Sens beginning to get back to form.

I want to keep him now. I suspect they can fully get over this nightmare and move forward. It can be forgotten about with one little press conference via Heatley. That's what angers me the most, the fact he's hiding away and making everyone else answer for him.

It seemed to me like the question was put to him and he was saying "ya, sure, if I had a chance I would tell him he should stay"....I wouldn't put too much stock into it.

I would love to see him man up about this whole thing, but I doubt we see it to be honest.

Yep. They can keep him until the deadline at the least - see if he's playing well enough to keep, or trade him then. It'll be an ongoing saga for sure, but I think we should keep him for now. I feel VERY strongly about that.

I can see that happening as well, but before the season starts some very serious questions will need to be addressed. It's like they say in a relationship, communication is key...right? Well, Heatley has had poor communication skills through all of this and has made it blatenly obvious he doesn't give a crap about "US" the fans.

Yeah, unfortunately he's got the IQ of a peanut (it looks like). Melnyk seems to think it's something or someone influencing him (his wife or fiance or whatever she is?).

Maybe this is just a PR, communication breakdown nightmare.

No matter what, Heatley will have to fire his agents to mend the damage done.
